^let's just imagine lisa had that exact hairstyle and hair color during her pre-debut days (I know she didn't but please just imagine it that way for the sake of this story)

Well, other than that... I hope you'll enjoy my very first story!!🙆🏻‍♀️💜

——————-

Lisa knew from the very beginning that achieving her dream wouldn't be as simple as it may sounded like. Yeah she entered YG Entertainment, the label of her dreams, and yes she was part of the debut line for the next girl group, but heck the things she had to go through in order to come this far were mind blowing.

It felt not long ago when she left her homeland, her parents, but also her comfort zone to come to korea. She came with zero korean language skills and not a single person was allowed to speak in english to her, that way she would learn korean more quickly. If it wasn't for the friends she had and her determination, all of her dreams would've been long gone.

It's true that she became good at speaking korean, but she still learns every single day and never misses a chance to do that.
Some might call her hardworking for the fact that she was born to dance, but Lisa also believes it's the pride she holds that won't let her stop reaching for this dream. She wouldn't be able to show her face to her family and friends in Thailand, if she wasn't going to accomplish her dream. How could she do that?

So while thinking about all these things she took a walk in one of the many playgrounds near her dorm. That wasn't the first time she had to leave the building to collect herself, she was determined but still had a lot of thoughts going on in her head.

However this time was different, Lisa didn't particularly came collect herself, but to do some of her so called "homework".
She stopped going to korean language classes, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to do anything at all. Actually she had to come up with her own rap verses and it was hard, because she still wasn't that fond of her korean skills and other than that she wasn't exactly the song writer type. She came up with many choreographies, but writing just wasn't her piece of cake and who knows if it'd ever be.

Of course Lisa could ask the other debut-line members, it wouldn't be a problem at all.
Instead she chose to try coming up with something herself before asking for help, because she was sure asking for help all the time wouldn't bring her anywhere near successful.

So there she was, clothed in a black shorts, a white crop top, black chucks and her beloved black beanie. Her natural short brown hair flew back and forward according to the slight windy weather, summer started and she started to dress in that way.

The 18-year old was surrounded by countless bushes and some benches of the small playground. She could've gone to those big ass parks, since there were a lot in Seoul, but Lisa was the kind of person to appreciate little things.

"Uhm, ok let's get started then", she mumbled to herself and started to imagine a random beat, maybe the fitting lyrics came with the beat. "Yeah, you're right it's me who's in front of you, thai girl L to the A to the L to the ISA..."

Gosh, that was hella cringe-worthy, if I was to perform that, sajangnim wouldn't wait to exclude me from the debut-line up.

"Maybe I should put more swag in it, like some hand gestures that Jennie-eonnie always does", people often tell Lisa that she was born with swag, but compared to her eonnie she was a puppy. At least that's what she thinks every time Jennie performs something in front of the evaluation judges. Lisa was confident that her dancing skills were the best out of the members in the debut-line up, but sometimes she was worried that dancing wasn't enough to be recognised. Especially when YG Entertainment was known for unique vocals, gangster rapping and an intimidating aura.

"Yes, yes I'm the kind of girl to like older guys, sweet little boys have to excess-"

"What kind of cringe show is this?"

Lisa almost screamed when she heard the unfamiliar voice from behind and immediately turned around.

A boy dressed in all black plus a cap and mask was standing there, his hands were inside the pockets of his pants. Judging by his looks she would guess he's either her age or a maximum of two years older than her. She couldn't see his whole face, but was able to see that he's not an old creep. Lisa saw strands of his brown hair, the part that couldn't get covered with his cap.

And then she realised something. That jerk dared to mess with her.

"Who are you to judge that in the first place?", she asked sharply and crossed her arms in front of her chest. Ok, she admitted that verse wasn't the best thing to come up with, but his comment could've been way more polite.

"I bet everyone with at least one brain cell can tell, that the verse was hella cringey", he answered smugly and shrugged. "I mean the idea behind the verse was ok, but all in all: bad"

She tried so hard to remember a compliment she was given for her rap verse, but all she could recall was compliments about her dancing and how good her korean pronunciation became.

"Stop annoying me!", she spit out and turned her back to him, trying to ignore him.
Seriously, who was that guy to actually tell her these things? If she was that bad, YG wouldn't let her be part of the debut-line up in the first place.

"I think your problem is that you think too much about what would sound the best or which verse could possibly impress, you should go with the flow", it may sounded like an advice for him, but to her it was another provocation.

"You act like it was the baddest rap verse, when there are plenty of people who can't even follow the flow or breath steadily", she shot back. "In fact, the way you deliver the package is crucial"

He simply watched her for a moment, no provocation or anything leaving his mouth.

"Right, delivering is important, but you shouldn't leave out the meaning behind the verses", he told her and sounded quite serious about it. "The best thing you can do is creating a verse that gets stuck into people's head, because not only the delivery was great, but also the things said"

Being the normally well-behaved girl she was, she just accepted the boy's opinion and sat down on the bench. He wasn't wrong at all, he had a point.

How could she forget about that?
She trained almost five years and forgot about the reason her sunbaes even became big, the lyrics they wrote were recognisable and stood out. People couldn't forget them.

"You're a trainee, right?", he asked while making his way to the bench and plopping down next to her. She nodded and took the chance to look at his face again.

What was she expecting to see? Half of his face was covered, all she could see was a small part of his nose and his chocolate brown eyes.
His eyes were beautiful, just like the chocolate she left in her dorm.

She mentally shook her head and glanced at the night sky.

"Do you think I will be successful when I debut?", Lisa wasn't even expecting anything from him as an answer. Yes, he didn't know her or the potential she had, but she still liked to hear the answer. She just wanted to get the question of her chest, since all she heard over the years was maybe you will get to debut next year or just wait and see till then.
For once she wanted to hear a proper answer, whether the answer was right or wrong didn't matter to her.

The second she looked at him again, it felt like their eyes were locked with each other. None of the two stopped staring.

"No, I don't think so"

With that said, he just provocatively left her frozen in spot.

"That jerk", she spoke through her gritted teeth and clenched her fists. "I'll show him what I'm capable of, just you wait!"

And little did she know it wouldn't be the last time that she met him.
