Your POV

"Why are you planning to attack La Belle I hear you say? Well that town sent us away after they lost their men the cut all ties with us!! Why do you think we have nothing! Half out town has been wiped out because of famine and the fact we've had barely any food because we lost our trading partner! And because of this I lost my wife, my daughter has no mother now! And I'm sure most of you are in a similar situation so it's time to get our own back! It's time for them to pay the price!! Who's with me?!" My father yelled

Pretty much everyone cheered except for me. Yes I was upset with the situation but destroying La Belle and their people wasn't the answer

"When do we leave Kingsley?" Some man in the crowd yelled

"In a hour! Get what you need and meet back here" he replied and the crowd cheered and headed off in different areas

My father came down and smiled at me "I know you don't like this but we need to make them understand"

"How is killing them going to help them understand?" I asked

"No there will be no killing just scare them" he said

"Someone is bound to die, you may not want to kill anyone but that crowd might" I said

"I'll make it clear to them, now that town have a Sheriff and and young deputy, I'll take care of them and then I would like you to watch over them, make sure they don't get out" he explained

"Why do I get the boring job?" I moaned

"I don't want you getting caught up in it, you're all I have left" he said

I sighed "ok fine"

We had arrived and stopped just outside the town

"Now today we are just here to scare them, make them know we are still here and that we needed their help and they gave us nothing!! I ask please no death is to be made today! LETS GO!!!!" My father yelled

I stopped and watched the crowd run towards La Belle and took a deep breath

"For mum" I whispered and set off

When I got there and already there was fighting and yelling, blaming La Belle for the multiple deaths

I saw my father go into the sheriff station, I watched as people continued to fight, already people were on the floor, dead.

I ran to the station, I had to be there anyway but still when I got there my father was yelling at the sheriff who was locked in the prison cell, as was the deputy

When they heard the door slam my father looked at me

"Call it off" I said

He came over to me "(y/n) we agreed"

"No we agreed that no one would die, you can't bring a angry mob to a town and expect no death" I said

"Well I can't just call it off" he said

"Dad people are dying!!!" I said

"He's you're father" the sheriff asked

My father shot him a glare, I glanced at the deputy, he was about my age and was just staring at me. I looked back at my father

"What do you expect me to do (y/n)?" He asked

"Stop the fighting and just reason with them, explain why we're upset with them" I pleaded

"I don't know if I can" he said looking out the window

"Speak to Mary" the deputy said suddenly

"Who's that?" I asked him

"She runs the town, if you wanna reason speak to her" he explained

My father still looked unsure

"I know you're only doing this because of mum but she wouldn't want this, she'd want us to just get on with it. We couldn't save her but we can save others" I said

He looked at me and nodded
"You stay here keep an eye on him, Sheriff your coming with me to find Mary and I'll speak to her"

I smiled "ok"

He left with the sheriff and I sat down, I could still feel that deputy staring at me, wasn't sure why so I just ignored it

"Why'd you come here" he asked

"Because your town left mine to struggle on its own resulting in famine which killed half the town" I replied

"Including your mother?" He asked

I nodded and looked down playing with the bracelet she gave me

"I'm sorry" he said

"It's fine, it's done now we just don't want it continuing" I said

"But if it helps we've been struggling too so when we get a famine we'll be knocking on your door" he joked

I smiled slightly
"You don't know where I live so have fun with that"

"I'd knock on every door then" he replied

"Don't be stupid" I smiled

"No that was serious" he said

We shared a look for a few moments before my father came in, I cleared my throat and looked at him

"Well?" I asked

"It's sorted, we're going to begin trading again" he grinned and walked over to the deputy and let him out

"Let's go home (y/n) we're done here for now" he said and walked

"I'll see you soon then" I smiled to the deputy

"You sure will" he replied

1 year later

Everything was how it should be, we had more food and no one had died which was a relief

I also learned that the deputy's name was Whitey and ever since we had been close friends

I was currently with him

"I'm busy tomorrow but I'll try come over" he said

I looked at him "what no if your busy don't bother, it's ok"

"No it's not ok" he replied

"Why do you try so hard Whitey?" I asked him

"Isn't it obvious? Because I love you" he replied
