"Where are we going?" I asked when Mikhail dragged me out the room and we walked on the deserted hallways of the hotel.
He didn't talk and I became nervous as we walked farther and farther from the venue.
Caspen must be too busy entertaining some business partners or probably flirting with them that he forgot he should be keeping an eye on me. Normally, he must have noticed my dissapreance by now but I got nothing.
I've been willingly following my captor.
I'm going with him willingly, this isn't normal.
My brain reacted too late and I removed his hand from mine.
"Excuse me, but what you're doing is inappropriate. You can't just go dragging women and taking them to wherever the hell you want." I glared at him but amusement was evident in his eyes.
He didn't reply and took my hand to which I reactive impulsively, slapping his hands.
"Didn't you hear what I just said?"
"Nope, not a bit." He stared like the way he did before that it almost took everything in me to remain standing and not pass out right now.
"As for what I remember, you asked for a dance and not a tag along." I am worried and irritated by his actions. He was acting like we're best friends and he needed to show me something important.
I decided to walk back but he caught me before another step. His hands are now around my waist, and my body's reaction is clearly betraying my mind.
"I wanted to talk to you first." He whispered in my ears like it was the most common thing to do. To drag a person without notice when you wanted to talk to them, and invade their personal space of course.
"You will need an appointmentment from my secretary." I answered, like the businesswoman I am.
"I knew that would happen so I dragged you, believe me, you wouldn't want you secretary to know about this." He talked with authority and power, like they way he did before. I kept remembering everything I've decided to throw away for the past years, centuries or maybe let's just say a thousand years.
Sometimes I wished that memories could be washed away.
Flashes of memories came crashing to me again, and I remembered the choices I made. The choices I mananged to make and those I haven't done yet.
I quietly followed him, while he kept his hands on my back. I had some ideas on what would happen.
Just as we made a curve at the dark side of the hallway, we were met by a group of what looked like guards. Large men in suits.
I prepared my stance but they outnumbered us, one of them smiled. I knew their bodies were armed with a number of weapons and I knew there is a very high possibility for the both of us to experience real physical pain now.
We are in our weak state, the state where we could easily be hurt but not die.
I chose to die and let him end my life somewhere in the future, but not right now.
I thought of the family Mikhail must have built by now with Karen and their kids maybe, it has been five years and I chose to shut down anything connected to them. I simply didn't care for I already made my choice, the choice to let him go and live while I await for the day I'll perish and finally rest.
Somewhere in my heart, I secretly wished he would just one day wake up and remember, but that is a gamble with me risking my life and his happiness.
I haven't had that thought for a while now, I was too busy waiting for my plans to start and wage the war, then I would surrender myself without a fight. It is an act of selfishness, but it's my only chance.
