"No!" I screamed as more and more realizations emerged.
"That's was the greatest failure of my life. I wasn't able to save my wife."
😎😎
I couldn't talk, nothing, it was like my own brain suddenly connected the dots together and I couldn't accept the facts. I wasn't who I thought I was. I was a monster creates in this lab, I was a monster created by Dawson.
"So do you understand it all now?" Then he lifted his head from my chest to look at me in the eye, "I created you out of my wife's likeness to push through with the program I was trying to do. You are the breakthrough of this world, you don't age and you don't need anything for survival, all you need is to stay safe." He smiled, a victorious smile which sent creeps to my whole body.
"I am your creator Olympia and I am your husband as well," he sighed and stared at me for a while, "she really looks like you."
"Like who?"
"Bring the kids in." Then on cue, two teenagers emerged from behind Caspen. They were twins and I saw the similarities of them to me and most importantly to Dawson. The girl got my hair color and my eyes, and she may look like me when she's older while the boy would look like her dad.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know I got you pregnant and I let you out in the cruel world love, but I got them and they're safe now." Then he sat next to me." Kids, this is your mom, I've explained everything to you right?"
The twins moved closer to me and I didn't expect them to accept the situation easily. They hugged me and kissed me like they just saw me yesterday and they were welcoming me home. "I love you mom." They both whispered as they sat next to me, almost afraid I'd be gone the second they move away.
"This is Alexious and Athena, you love the Greek mythology and you've been so amandant on naming our kids based on those tales." Then we smiled, all of us, like it was the perfect picture of a family.
The kids left us after they told me everything the happened in their lives so I wouldn't miss anything at all. He did a great job raising them after all.
Then all that's left is Dawson and me. He carried Me to what looked like a master's bedroom and we laid there together, with him at my back spooning me like he'd never let go.
"The kids aren't normal too. They've got your abilities but not those hallucinations." I gasped as he told me that. But I was thankful they won't be living in a made up world like mine and I believe that Dawson wouldn't them suffer from what I suffered from.
I had a lot of questions to ask and I didn't know how to start.
"Ask."
"Why did you make me this way."
"You had an unstable mind. You always had those hallucinations happening to you. Then you got better, we were so happy to build our own family, but the bomb exploded, you have brain cancer and you're only given 3 months to live. I didn't know you're also 3 months pregnant."
"Why?"
"I love you more than my life and I can't accept it that we've just started and I'm going to let you go. I wanted you to live and at the same time, Condrad had the experiment going."
"So everything?"
"Is a lie, Condrad did it to Solomon to save his dying son, who was involved in an explosion and was barely breathing. I did it for my wife. I was desperate, he didn't tell me everything that happens after, right then, the hope was all stolen from me, I regret it. I should have let the world do it's part, I don't want to admit, but I should have let you die than to suffer in this world more."
"Why'd you let me go."
"I didn't, you ran away and I couldn't find you. Until Solomon woke up and Caspen killed the Balthimore who's been working with Condrad all along, feeding you the hallucinations through your food."
"Those were all fake. Everything I've believed in and Solomon."
"Condrad made a bond between you, to keep the both of you safe. It wasn't supposed to be intimate but I don't know what happened. The fact that you both are the only existing of your kind made your body yearn for survival in each other."
"So how old I am supposed to be."
"You're 32, just like me, but you'll look 19 for the rest of your life."
"And you'll live with that?"
"As long as it's you it wouldn't matter."
"But not to me."
"I know you'd say that. Let me just have you for a while. Then I'll give you the power to choose."
Then we succumbed to darkness in each other's arms. Right then I felt home in the hands of the man I've I least expected to be universe.
