Chapter 15

Alex p.o.v

After Matt left Ryan and I went back inside, Ryan went to the living room and I went to the kitchen then Eli and Noah walked in and Noah layed down his map on the table,"I figured out a way that we could get the druid blood and get out here. We go to this town first and stock up on supplies then we'll travel along this stream and it will take us to the lake so we would still have to cross that but then we go to the cabins and see Rosie. I have a large cabin up there, remember when we used to go there with Ryan and everyone else for the summer, well anyway we could stay there for awhile."

"Sounds like a great plan Noah, go explain it all to them please. When Matt gets back I'll tell him everything and then we can pack up everything and go. The sooner the better right?"

He nodded then walked away and Eli looked at me with worry clouding his eyes,"Alex do you think I did the right thing, saving Noah?" I looked at him and sighed then pulled him into a hug.

"Of course you did, I know that you feel bad for killing Blight but-" I was cut off by Matt staring at us then his eyes were filled with rage and we walked closer to us.

"You what?!?!?!?! You killed Blight?!?", he roared with anger and I could see Eli turn as pale as me then look at Matt with fear evident in his chocolate brown eyes. Then everyone came running into the kitchen and watched Matt.

"I-I had to, he would have killed Noah if I hadn't.", he stuttered, he never stutters unless he's truly terrified of something.

Matt looked at him and I saw his hand slowly curl around a dagger then I slowly walked over to him. He pushed me out of the way and I fell then he pounced onto Eli, he tried to stab Eli in the stomach but he grabbed his hand and threw the dagger across the room. "Noah help me grab Matt!" I yelled then me and Noah both grabbed each arm and pulled him off then pinned him to the floor.

"What the fuck happened Matt?!?" he looked at me then I saw everyone besides Noah run upstairs to take care of Eli."Noah let him go."

He looked at me as if I just lost my mind,"What? Are you crazy he could try and kill you."

"Don't argue with me and just do it. He wont hurt me, I promise."

Noah reluctently let go then I did the same and Matt started to cry,"Noah go upstairs and make sure Eli is ok then tell Ryan to stay up there for an hour or two. I know what he's going to say so tell him I mean it." he sighed, obviously realizing that he wouldn't win this arguement then he went upstairs. I hugged Matt and rubbed circles onto his back while he cried, he clinged to me like a baby to it's mother and honestly I was perfectly fine with it as I whispered sweet things into his ear.

After he calmed down I sat him at the table and put on a pot of water to boil then he layed his head on the table.

~Matts p.o.v~

I layed my head on the table and a few more tears slid down my cheeks, it felt like my entire world had come to a complete stop like he only thing keeping me alive. It felt like my isides were about to be pulled out but at the same time I couldn't feel anything, like my body had frozen in time and I could only think of my worst experience.

~Flashback~

I took off my boot and then my socks, I rolled up my pants and I put my feet in the cold crystal blue water then I smiled and checked my watch. 11:55. Me and Blight come here every Thursday to catch up and just be with each other and we both needed it. He works very hard protecting the ruby and I work for The Beast and The Liche King, I layed on my back. He was usually here first but not today, I woke up extra early so I could beat him today and it worked. I heard rustling noises so I sat up and looked over to the trees and he emerged and looked at me.

He chuckled,"Finally beat me, well maybe next time I'll win."He sat down beside me and put his legs in the water. You see most people would be terrified if they saw him but I could never be scared of him, he saved me from death and I love him for that but only as a friend, maybe a brother or father but he is definitely my best friend. He got up and layed in the stream and humeed with delight as his vines soaked in the water then he splashed me a little bit. That's how the rest of our day went, us splashing each other with water and him making awful jokes. It was one of my favorite visits and I could never forget it.

~End of flashback~

(Alex p.o.v)

I handed Matt a cup of tea and he started drinking it but stayed silent then Ryan walked in,"Will you come with me? I need to talk to you, it's important." I looked at Matt and then back to Ryan.

"I-I don't think I can. He needs me Ryan."

"Please Alex." he looked a little hurt and then he glanced at Matt and his eyes were filled with remorse and pity.

"Alright but lets be quick please." he nodded then we walked to the living room and sat on the couch then he sighed and held my hand.

"Look, I know he was your friend but he knew Blight so he has to know The Liche King, it's not safe here anymore. He's probably on his way right now to ask if Matt knows anything and right now I think Matt would give him all the information he knows so far."

I looked at him and sighed,"You guys go. Look I know that it's not safe anymore so you guys go, I'll come after you when Matt gets better. I can't abandom him-" before I could finish Matt walked in and looked at me then a few tears fell and he came over to me then I hugged him and he cried into my shoulder.

"Please don't leave Alex" I heard him mutter it then me and Ryan sat frozen like statues.
