The Adventure

Chapter 14

(Matt p.o.v)

I looked at Alex and smiled then got up and walked to my room then collapsed onto my bed. I mentally sighed, the last time I saw Alex was 6 years ago back then I wanted kids more than anything and he just wanted to explore the world. We both decided that we would be better off if we split apart and ever since then all I've been able to think about is him, his beautiful smile, how his eyes sparkle when he sees an animal, how much he hates tomatoes. Even the smallest things that most people would overlook I absolutely loved about him.

I sat up and sighed, I want to be with him so bad but that will never happen if his stupid lap dog is around, Eli and Noah are falling in love but I would have to take out them to becaus they are smarter than the average person so they'll figure it out eventually and we can't have that now can we. I looked at the wall and and then the door, I'll probably have to take out Cas and Lydia to because they are also incredibly smart and they'll figure it out faster than the boys and it sucks because me and Cas got along really well but nothing gold can stay I suppose. After I've killed them then Alex will come crying to me and I can comfort him then he'll start to fall in love with me agin and BAM we're riding happily into the sunset.

I got up and went to my closet and grabbed my dagger and my belt then grabbed my combat boots, I went downstairs and grabbed my wallet then went outside to the stable. I walked outside and looked for anyone then I saw Alex sitting with his horse and Ryan had his head in his lap. I looked at them and I felt anger boiling inside of me then I took a few breaths and calmed down then walked to my horse. Alex looked up at me and smiled and I felt my heart flutter then I smiled back,"Where you going?" Ryan looked up at me and fowned then sat up and hugged Alex.

"I'm going to the market, I want to make sure that we won't run out of food or anything and I'm going to visit my father and uncle. I cancelled our last meeting because of work and I would like to see them." I got onto my horse and they both got up and went inside then I started to go to the small town near my house, it was about 10 miles away and took about 40 minutes to get there on a horse.

~FLASHBACK TO THREE YEARS AGO~

I grabbed my stomach trying to stop the hot sticky blood from flowing out then I pulled out my dagger with my other hand and pointed it at the two soldiers in front of me, the soldier on the right lunged at me and I stabbed him in the thigh then he fell down screaming. I pulled my dagger out of his leg then the other soldier came from behind me and stabbed me in the back with his dagger then I fell to the ground and my vision started to blur. Someone walked up behind me and I think he was scary looking because the soldiers started to run but vines snaked there way across the ground to the soldiers feet and threw one of them over the ledge and threw the other one at the wall. I felt myself being picked up then my vision started fading away and soon I was covered in a blanket of darkness.

-5 hours later-

I groaned and sat up then looked around, it was a nice sized bedroom. The room had high ceilings and the walls were a drak red with dark oak wooden floors, there was a wooden wardrobe and a small longer chair like thing at the end of the bed. There were two lights in the room and they were both very dim but there was just enough light to see a large body sitting in a rather small chair, the body started to move and groan then the body got up and walked over to me then started at me.

I looked up at him, jeez he is really tall like 7+, then I really looked at him. He was made of mostly vines and they were a sickly green color and he had a green human ribcage with a human almost animal like skull, he sat at the edge of the bed and looked at me then attempted a smile.

"Your awake-" he coughed"-sorry, it's been awhile since I've talked. I don't typically use it, I'm more of a nod kinda monster. My name is Vine Blight but most people call me Blight and your probably wondering why your here aren't you?"

"...y-yes. I am."

"Ok well I'm about to eplain it and it gets a little complicated so listen carefully and please save questions for after I'm done explaining everything." I nodded and he took a deep breath then continued,"When I found you, you were on the ground and you had been stabbed in the stomach and in the back and you had lost a lot of your blood. I used my vines nd killed one of the soldiers that attacked you and the other one is being questioned by one of my friends soldiers, I picked you up and carried you too The Liche Kings layer and I convinced him to save you with The Blood Ruby, we waited for you to bleed to death and now here you are. However there are a few things you should now, you are basically immortal now, the only person that can kill you is Liche. The other thing you should now is that your frozen in time, you won't get older now, your apart of our family."

I looked at him and just stared,"So,.....I'm apart of your family now?"

"Yes, you are. However he's decided you'd be best on the surface, it's not safe for most of them to go out into the sun anymore. There are plenty of people that would like our family dead, I can go up up to the surface and his wife can go up but that's it. If it's an emergency then he sends soldiers up but only the best of the best soldiers can go."

I nodded and looked at him then he showed me around the place.

~Present~

-45 minutes later-

I arrived in the small little town and got a few looks from the residents but no one said hi to me, no one ever says hi to me but that's ok. I tied up my horse on a long wooden thing and went into the store then went around and picked some veggies and fruits and stuffs but I tried o be quick because I wanted to stop and meet Blight at our special spot. I payed for everything and went back to my horse then put my stuff into the pouches on my horses saddle then climbed onto it and started going towards home, after about 15 minutes I sterred my horse off the road and went through the trees to a small clearing with a little stream. I let my horse go to the stream and get some water then I checked my watch, 12:00.

I looked around and watched the trees, nothing....Blight was usually ealier than me. He was almost never late though, he always looked forward to our meet-ups, I walked over to the stream and took off my boots then rolled up my pants then I let my feet rest in the cool water then I layed my back on the grass and closed my eyes. Maybe I should wait a little while, man he is never late, maybe he's hurt or worse, maybe he's been captured or tortured....I sat up and looked around, still no movement. I sighed and checked my watch again, 12:45. I got up and put on my socks and shoes then fixed my pants and went to my horse, I pet his head and hopped onto his back then started my way back to the house.
