Chapter 32/She knows

Wendy pov

I woke up to the sound of hummingbirds singing.My hair was in a mess and I forgot to wash off the makeup I had on.It was almost noon and I didn't care,I was totally bored and had nothing fun to do.After fixing my face,I head downstairs to the kitchen and pore myself a glow of orange juice.The house looked deserted but it was the whispering that opposed.

I was so curious that I desired to eavesdrop on the people in the next room."Father I think we shouldn't withdraw from this,they killed many of our own."I peeked and saw Tristan speaking to Marc.

"Tristan,I can't let the rest of the pack go to war,it would be suicide.You know Nathaniel's pack is too strong and we can't afford to lose to them.Think of what it would do to Marcus when he finds out."Marc said.

"Father I just-"

"What you need to focus on is Wendy.She's a strong girl and she needs to be protected.Its very rare to find a human as a mate.As a matter of fact,it only  happened once,during the time of Albion."Marc sat in a chair.

"So what do I do?She clearly has no feelings for me?"Tristan rans his hand through his hair.

"You must mark her,take her by force and you must do it tonight,during the most powerful full moon, the wolf moon."My eyes widened.I bucked up slowly and hit Into a flower vase that crushed into tinny pieces.

"What's that?"

"I don't know."Tristan respond.I rushed to my room and locked the door behind me.Kelsi was in danger and she didn't know it.Alpha,pack,full wolf moon?All this didn't make any sense.its as though they claiming to be wolves.

My heart started racing when I heard pounding at the door."Wendy,is everything alright?"Tristan asked.I dared not the answer.Instead,I gathered some bedsheets and made a rope out of it.The plan was simple,find Kelsi and get the heck out of here.

"Wendy,are you there?"

I tied the sheets  to the bed and threw the rest out of the window,it didn't look too far.The door was forced open and I came face to face with Tristan.He looked at me and his eyes widened.I gave him the middle finger and climbed down the window.Once my feet touched the ground,I made a run for it.

"Wendy,stop!"Tristan yelled but there was no way I was stopping.

"Hey is everything okay?"Cal asked but I didn't answer,I just went on because if Tristan and Marcus were wolves and belonged for packs,then cal was part of it too.

Kelsie was on a hill and right next to her was Marcus,grabbing her by the arm,I forced her aside."We have to leave now."I was shaking.She stared at me then at Marcus then at me again.

"Wendy is everything ok-"

"I have no time to explain everything it's just that..."I didn't know how to break it down to her."These people are not what they claim to be."I look at Marcus who is now frowning."They are wolves Kelsi.Like Jacob from twilight."I whisper.Kelsi's eyes widen.She didn't have the words to say.

"Wendy come on,that's ridiculous."

"I'm leaving and you're coming with me."I grab her arm but she pulls it back.She glances at Marcus and back at me.From the looks of things she had already made up her mind.

"Wendy I-"

"Would chose a guy over your own best friend?The one who was there when Luke came after you and the one who put you first above everything?"I swear I was going to cry.She didn't say anything,she just stared at the ground as though it was going to swallow us all.

"I don't expect you to understand."

"Fine."I say."I'm out of here."I made a run for it again without looking back.its as though a part of my heart was ripped from my chest.
