I was cold. Very, very cold. And wet. My hand clenched around something soft, and cold. Grass? I tried to open my eyes.
"Hold up." Said a voice. I felt water trickle over my eyes, softening whatever it was which held them together. When I opened them, pain bloomed in my brain.
"Agghhhhh!" I groaned. My head still hurt, but at least I didn't feel sick or feverish anymore. Where am I? Who is this guy? I tried to sit up, but he pushed me back down.
"I'd wait a sec if I were you."
I saw him. It was... "Mekhi?" I gasped.
He raised his eyebrows. "You remember my name. I'm impressed."
"What's going on?" Did he kidnap me or something? "Where am I, Mekhi?" I snapped.
He glared at me, light chocolate eyes flashing. "Don't get feisty, mate. If it wasn't for me you'd probably be dead right now."
"Dead?" I gasped. I frowned. "Don't be ridiculous. Where am I?" I asked again, looking around. Trees loomed above me, tall and swaying in the wind. I glanced back at Mekhi, who was watching me as if I were some sort of prisoner that he couldn't let escape. "We're in a forest?"
"No shit Sherlock." He said humourlessly.
"Where's Ash?"
Mekhi chuckled. "Not here."
"What did you do to him?"
"What?" He exclaimed. We both stared at each other, confused. I don't even know how I jumped to that conclusion. He shook his head at me, looking at me from the corner of his eyes, looking worried. "I didn't do anything to him. The question is, what did he do to you?"
"What do you mean?" I sat up. He shrugged, and didn't push me back this time. I still had a dull ache in my head, but it was okay. "Look, can you just tell me how to get home?"
Jess, I was supposed to wake her up. Mum probably did anyway. But I don't understand, why am I here, and where am I? Why do I fell better? Was it Mekhi who took me out of my room last night, it must've been. Why? How'd he know that I was sick? How did he know where I lived, let alone my room? And how did he make me better? Did he make me better? What did he want with me? Where was Ash? What does Mekhi mean by what did he do to me? And where the fuck am I!?
I stood, and so did Mekhi. "Mekhi, please, just tell me where I am."
He sighed. "Tabara."
"Taba what?"
He glared at me. "Are you deaf? Ta-ba-ra. It's really not that hard you son of a bitch."
That took me aback. "Hey, I was just asking! No need to get aggressive." I held up my hands defensively. This guy scared me.
He scowled. "You're too fucking ignorant for your own good."
"So, where is this... Tabara."
"Here." He gestured around to the forest we were standing in with his right hand. He rolled his eyes and looked away. His knuckles on his left hand were white from clenching them so tightly into a fist.
Suddenly I realized just how alone I was. With a mad, short-tempered, hot and vaguely stalkerish guy. I swallowed. "What are you going to do with me?" I asked quietly.
He glanced back and watched me for a second. "What do you want me to do with you?"
I think I turned white. Or maybe red, I'm not sure. Fuck. He just turned the atmosphere around, upside down and inside out. One second he had a 'I wanna kill you' look and the next it was more of a 'let's fuck instead'. To be honest, the two looks were actually really similar.
"U-uh..." I muttered. He stalked towards me. I stepped back and crashed into a tree. "Mekhi, I-"
He slammed his arms either side of me, trapping my against the tree. How'd he get here so fast?
"Are you blushing, Isaak?" He kept watching me. "So, you like boys then?"
I flushed. "M-mekhi..." Jeez get a hold of youself! I snapped mentally. I was a mess. An absolute mess. What was wrong with me? Usually I was less passive then this, but something about Mekhi made me pathetic, and utterly speechless. "Look..."
"What?" He didn't move closer, just kept me trapped. He actually seemed curious.
"Um..." I tried to slip away, but he grabbed me and pushed me back against the tree. Now one of his hands pressed against my shoulder, holding me still. "Can you please let me go?"
"Answer me."
"This is really weird you know, cos like, we don't actually know each other, like, at all, and you've kinda kidnapped me... so like... I don't really think this is-"
"Isaak." His voice seemed falsely warm. "Stop blabbering. Answer me."
"What was the question?" I squeaked.
"Do you like boys?"
Despite the fact I was confidently out of the closet, for some reason I didn't really want to tell this guy the truth. "Like boys? I guess it depends what you mean, I mean my best friend Jackie-"
His slammed his arm hard against the trunk, and I think the whole tree shook. He scowled. "Let me tell you something, Isaak. I have a very, very short temper."
I swallowed thickly. "I noticed."
His eyes narrowed.
"Oh, yeah, well, I, uh, guess I do like boys."
He breathed out slowly. "Thank you." He didn't make a move to let me go.
"Um... no problem. Can you... let me go now?"
He watched me darkly.
"Please?" I whispered. If was possible, his gaze darkened even more. Shit, how is he so threatening?
"Mekhi!" Called someone from the trees. With one last glower, Mekhi pushed away.
Grumpy Mekhi ;-)
