"Isaak." The shadowed figure stepped out of the trees and revealed himself. It was Wolf. Ash and Mekhi both jumped, they hadn't noticed him before. He came and stood beside Archer. "I'm sorry. If I'd known who you were, Ash, I would have stayed with you." His brown eyes studied mine and Ash's. He glanced at Mekhi, who looked disgusted. "And if I'd known who this Mekhi really was, I would have warned you."

I still held my sword, but I was softening, and I knew it. Softening at Wolf's and Archer's words. They spoke the truth, I could tell. I thought Mekhi was too, but something wasn't right.

I glanced at Ash and realised he would trust Archer too. As he told me before we left to go back to him – he had known Archer for a lot longer than he had known Mekhi. He loved Archer so, so much. I had to believe it was Archer and Wolf who we could trust.

"Well, well, well! May I join the party?" From the tree above us, dropped a skinny, curly-haired figure, landing softly between me and Ash and the other three.

"Saga? What the fuck." Archer stated more than questioned.

"Hello friend." He blew a kiss at me and Ash and turned back to Archer. "Sorry, couldn't miss the excitement."

"How do you know Isaak?" Archer queried.

"I'm his friend." He rolled his eyes at Mekhi and Archer's confused expressions. "His earth friend, Jackie."

Archer drew a sharp breath. "So, it is true."

"That depends on what the truth is to you, now doesn't it?"

"Don't play games with me Saga."

"What games? I'm merely stating that sometimes what is true for you is not always true for others and that the truth is not always as it seems sometimes the truth is but a mirage and the real truth lies behind it." Saga didn't even take a breath.

"Fuck. Is this how seers always talk?" Mekhi growled.

Saga smiled. "No, we don't always talk. We often remain silent and watch the chaos unfold around us." He sighed dreamily. "Dearie, dearie me, dear Isaak, what is this drama you have gotten yourself into?"

I swallowed. "Help us, Saga. Please?"

Saga smiled softly. "Sorry, friend. I don't like to get too involved."

"Then why are you here?" Mekhi scoffed. "Just tell them the truth, would you. You are a seer after all, you know what's happening, don't you?"

Archer narrowed his eyes at Mekhi's confidence. Mekhi's words only confused me more... if he was lying, why would he encourage Saga to tell the truth?

"Are you asking me to wipe away the mirage?" Saga murmured, watching Mekhi with curious eyes.

Mekhi rolled his eyes. "I suppose seers are as useless as they say."

"Saga, are you going to clear anything up here?" Archer growled. "If you're not going to help anyone then please, fuck off. You're only making everyone more confused."

Saga shrugged. "I'm only here because I know it's going to get very, very exciting soon." He looked into Mekhi's eyes for a second too long, then at Archer, and Wolf. He turned to me. "Just trust your instincts, friend, and remember how I told you to hold that sword."

His warm smile gave me confidence just as his words made me unsure. What's going to happen?

Archer grimaced as he drew his bow, as Mekhi lifted his sword again. Wolf glanced at Archer and drew his sword too. Instead of facing each other, they turned to the outer edges of the clearing, looking into the forest. Saga winked at me, and ran to the nearest tree, swinging up and disappearing into the foliage.

"What's happening?" Ash murmured, dragging his dagger from his boot.

"I don't know." I mutter, glancing at the sword in my hands. I rearrange my hand, making sure I held the handle just as Saga had told me. "But I don't think it's good."

"Stay together?"

Ash was already looking at me, his blue eyes shining. I nodded. "Yeah. Stay together."
