They all got up from their seats and Lindsey and Kristen began giving Stevie a small tour of the house. Just the main things for now, but when she moved in they would go into the nitty gritty of things.
"Our kids are twelve, nine and six," Kristen said as they all walked up the stairs with Lindsey guiding his wife, while Stevie traveled behind them.
"Mhmm," Stevie responded just to let them know she was listening.
As they made their way they pointed out bedrooms and what door was which.
"This is our son, Will's room," Kristen pointed out. Knocking on the door, she hoped he would answer, but he didn't.
"Damn it," Lindsey mumbled as he opened it. "Yo!" he got his son's attention quickly.
Kristen put her hand on his chest to calm him down.
"Hey?" William stood up and smiled, hoping that would help him to not be in trouble.
"Hi. Sweetheart, she is going to be helping your dad and I out," Kristen mentioned.
"Cool, nice to meet you," he put his hand out for Stevie to shake it. "I'm William, you can call me Will," he added.
"Nice to meet you, too," she took his hand, shaking it gently. "I'm Stephanie, you can call me Stevie," she mimiced his mannerisms.
He seemed like a sweet kid and she was hoping it wasn't an act since she had her share of rascals.
Lindsey sucked his cheeks in, curling his lips to one side as he semi nodded to himself. He was a little surprised with manners his kid showed. He knew he taught them, but he also knew his son never used them.
"Okay, this is our daughters' room. They share this room, being that they are young and we thought it would be nice for them to stay together," Kristen mentioned as they left their son's area.
The girls' door was open slightly and so Kristen gently pushed it.
Leelee and Stella were playing with their barbies at their tea table.
"Hi, ladies?" Lindsey greeted them with a smile.
Stevie could already see some tension between the son and father and she could tell the mother wasn't as adamant with her girls. She seemed to be firmer in her opinion. But she could definitely see all the love for each and every child so far.
Both girls turned abruptly to greet him in response. "Hi, daddy," they said in unison.
"Come here," Kristen beckoned them over.
They did as told and made their way over.
They each held a beautiful smile on their face.
Stevie squatted down to be at height with their girls.
It was a natural inclination to be at level with the small children.
Lindsey then followed in her actions before introducing Stevie. "This is Stella and Leelee," he pointed to each girl.
"Very beautiful girls," Stevie complimented them with a soft smile.
"Thank you," they said at the same time.
"My pleasure."
"What's your name?" asked Leelee as she admired Stevie's long flowy skirt.
"Stevie," she said bluntly.
"Isn't that boy name?" asked Stella as she placed a hand on her tiny waist.
"It can be," Stevie assured. "But my name is big so I like to keep it short."
