After his date, Lindsey had come home. Stevie nor his wife were home yet and that kind of bummed him out. He was so introverted that he had to do something to not feel bored. But he was lazy and he didn't feel like doing anything. He made his way up the stairs and the woman Lorraine, he went out with stayed in his interest. He liked her a lot and she was way different as Kristen had said. She was very pretty and they had a nice conversation. She wasn't too forward as the other women had been. That was one quality he had found nice about her. Plopping down in his bed, he stared at the ceiling. His hand rested on his stomach and he was thinking about a million different things. He was thinking of the new Fleetwood Mac album that was almost done, his wife and what was going on with her, what the kids were doing, his date with Lorraine, and above all---he was thinking about Stevie. He was thinking of all her kind and ambitious qualities. She had all of the greatest characteristics tied into one. He enjoyed the way she played music. That was one thing to really catch him, but there were more than he could've counted. His thoughts were soon cut off by the sound of Stevie's voice filling the downstairs foyer. He could hear her boots hitting the hardwood floors and the light thump that hit the carpeting of the stairs.
"Lindsey?" she said low, but with a little force to be sure he heard.
"Yeah?" he popped up and opened his bedroom door for her.
"Hi, I'm sorry I got here late. I thought I'd be back sooner but..." she rambled on in her own explanation.
"It's alright," he assured. "You have the day off anyway..." he lingered.
She shook her head. "Anyway, how was your date?"
They stood in the hallway, just outside his bedroom door.
"It was actually... not bad," he shrugged.
"Great!" she smiled as she began making her way to her room. "That'll make Kristen happy," she mentioned.
"Yeah..." he lingered once again. He then followed her to her room. "I don't know---she seemed different than the other women and I actually kind of liked her."
"Well, that's good. Wanna give me some detail as to why?" she asked as she seated herself on her piano bench. She crossed one leg over the other---revealing her black tights under her long, black skirt. As she rested her journal on her knee to support where she wrote, the giant heel of her boots were shown as were the length of the creamy-tan suede. They had gone just below the knee.
"She just was nicer and more laid back. She didn't seem pushy, but she was understanding. She was less Stepfordish, but she shared that side a bit," he leaned against her door frame like he had so for weeks. "So how was your day out?" he asked.
"Oh, it was nice. I gave my parents the keys to my house since I am not there at the moment. They don't have to get a hotel that way and I have a guest bedroom. That's what took me long. I had to go home and pull the sheets down and all that jazz."
"Sheets?" he questioned.
"Mm, the weeked I moved in---I put sheets down on my furniture in the house. I didn't want it getting dusty."
"Oh," he nodded.
A small silence then took over the two.
"Would you like to sit? you always stand in the doorway," she mentioned.
He let out a small chuckle. "Sure, thanks---" he sat down on the chest at the foot of her bed.
"Mhmm," she turned her body to face the piano.
"So what are you working on?" he asked.
"Nothing really," she giggled deeply to herself. "I just mess around most of the time. I just hit what sounds right."
