It seemed as if the rest of the day had gone silent. Leelee and William stayed close to their father most of the day since hearing the news about their mom. Stella had stayed with Stevie because, she was confused. She understood that her mom was dead, but she couldn't get why everybody was sad. The sad atmosphere of Stevie's house unnerved her a lot. Her governess' home had been so serene and happy, but now it was different and she could easily tell. She didn't get that her mom wasn't coming back so much. It just didn't click in her young mind.
By dark out---Christine, Mick, and John were finally going to take off. Christine was going to stay, but Lindsey urged that she went home. The boys were only leaving because they had their own children to tend to otherwise they would have stayed. But still, Lindsey was insisting that they leave and take care of themselves and families. He knew, he could at least try and handle what was to come with Stevie. He was actually terrified of how his kids would be behaving. He didn't know his kids to be ill tempered, only William at some points and that was due to his age. He didn't know how angry his son or girls could get from missing one vital family member.
By real late at night, the William and Leelee were finally asleep. Lindsey had gone to sleep with Leelee in hers and Stella's bed, while Stella went to bed with Stevie. She had of course hugged been with her dad and tried to make him feel better during the day, but he seemed to be unforgiving. He did his best to ammuse his youngest child, but now it was hard to be charitable for her.
William had gone to sleep at some point when he was in the room, laying down with Christine. She and the other men had consoled him as best as they could. They were very nice to him and very docile. They let the preteen know; everything would be okay, his mother was in a better place, and that they would always be there for him. They also told him that things would eventually shape.

"Stevie?" Stella whispered quietly. She was curled close to her governess as they laid in bed. Stella was waking up at awkward times during the night, since the only thing in thought; was making her daddy feel better. She wanted him to be happy and she didn't understand why everybody was sad. She liked being with Stevie since she was the only one not showing so much emotion.
"Hmm?" Stevie hummed to her in question. She was, of course very sad for the loss this family was enduring, but she had to stay strong. The only thing that made her truly cry, was Lindsey and how sad he was. She was so upset by the kids' reactions, but she definitely understood what Stella was feeling. She could tell, Stella was coming to her because, she wasn't crying. Stevie seemed to be the only outlet at the moment for her to go to.
"When will everybody stop being sad?" she continued to whisper.
"Well... I don't know, honey," Stevie truthfully answered. "It was a very hard thing for you guys and I know you don't really understand, but later on you will," she swiped Stella's light brown hair.
"Are you sad, Stevie?" she asked. She sat up on her knees and looked down at Stevie who was still laying down.
Stevie put her focus on the child and could see her well. They had the beside lamp on and a thin shawl over it to dim it down. "Well, a little," she replied truthfully. She wasn't exactly sad because, it wasn't her loss however she had grown close to them over the year. She couldn't say she wasn't sad at all because, it definitely hurt her. "Are you sad?" she then asked the little girl.
Stella curled her lips to one side and shrugged her shoulders. She kind of nodded, but shook her head because, she didn't really know if she should be. She felt almost obligated to be sad.
"It's okay, if you're not..." Stevie responded to her bewilderment. She could understand that the little girl was unsure of herself. She knew that she was confused in how she should feel. She wanted to assure the child that it was okay to not be sad. A lot of parents in the world would be mad at their children for not having sympathy and, or mourning for their mother or loved one. But everybody is different and she knew the sadness could catch up later.
