Daniel and I were talking right at the edge of the water. Nothing really serious. Just random things.

I just felt calmer when I was around him.

That was until someone swooped up behind me and threw me into the freezing water.

I come back up and see Jack and Daniel there laughing at me. "I told you I would get you back" Jack said.

"Asshole!" I laughed not really meaning it.

I walked out of the water and purposefully pushed through Jack and Daniel with a huge smirk on my face.

I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around myself.

Today has really been a fun day.

-

It's been a couple of days. One of the last days that the boys are in town.

I got dressed. Did all that hygiene stuff. Did my hair and makeup. Then went downstairs and sat on the couch.

I was watching some dumb reality tv show.

No one was home. Jack took my mom shopping for her birthday. They'll be gone a while.

My phone buzzed.

10:26am
Daniel: wanna hangout?

10:26am
Me: yeah
Me: be over in 10

I loved hanging out with Daniel. I didn't even know what we were at this point.

I slipped on my shoes and started walking over. I texted my mom and told her I went to Anna's house. Technically I was.

As I walked, I breathed in the smell of fresh cut grass. It was a nice day.

I heard the sound of kids laughing through the park, people talking, birds chirping.

[DANIEL SEAVEY]

I quickly looked at myself in the mirror, fixing up my hair a bit, making sure I looked okay.

I was so excited to spend the day with her.

I heard a knock on the door. I quickly looked around my room to see if everything looked okay.

I nodded and ran down the stairs almost falling. I whip open the door. "Hello Joey" I say happily.

"Excited to see me?" She laughed a bit as I let her in. "Maybe" I grinned.

"I'm honoured" she said lightly putting her hand over her heart. "Come. Let's go upstairs" I smiled.

She nodded and we went up into my room.

"What do you wanna do?" I asked. "Can we play a game?" She asked sitting down on my bed.

"What kind of game?" I asked sitting down next to her.

"Hmm...like 21 questions." She replied. "Okay. You go first." I smiled. "Okay um, who was the most toxic person you've known?" She asked.

"Well, I had this best friend a little while back, and he, he was never really a true friend. He would peer pressure me into a lot of things, make fun of me for my music, made me feel worthless. But I held onto him because I was scared I wouldn't make any new friends without him." I replied.

"Aw Daniel." She said making a sad face. "How could you not make new friends? You're like, the nicest guy I've ever met." She added.

I shrugged. "I used to be super insecure. But after I dropped him, I realized, I'm living my life for me, not for anyone else. And I auditioned for American Idol." He smiled.

"That's really great Daniel." She smiled looking down. "What's your biggest pet-peeve?" I asked her.

"Irresponsibility." She replied. "Why?" I chuckled at her unexpected response.

"I don't know. I guess it just makes me really angry when someone is given a responsibility or has committed to something and they just don't care." She said.

"I can see why that would make you mad." I nodded. "What's the best mistake you've made?" She asked.

"You." I said looking at her with a smile.

She covered her face with her hands and fell back onto the bed. "Why?" She asked muffled through her hands.

"Because, I didn't mean to bump into you. I didn't mean to get so attached to you as I am now." I said the last part more quietly.

I could see her smiling through her hands. I pulled her hands off her face revealing the red dots on her cheek.

"Thanks Daniel." She said quietly as she leaned onto me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders. "You're welcome Joey."
