[JOEY STANFORD]

By the time we were done making my home look pretty it was around 4.

"Have you figured out where you're taking me yet?" I whispered leaning my arm on his shoulder.

"Yes. Dress casual. I'll pick you up at 8" he smiled.

"Okay." I smiled back.

While we were decorating the rest of my stuff from my room had arrived so I had everything here with me.

After all the boys left I walked around my apartment with a sudden burst of joy.

This is my house.

I'm living on my own.

I'm taking care of myself and being an adult.

I've always dreamed of this.

I checked the time to see it was 5:30pm. I decided to have a shower before Daniel would be picking me up since I was probably sweating putting that couch together.

I put on some music and hopped in the shower and like, showered.

After getting out I wrapped my hair in a towel and put on a hoodie and some leggings since I didn't really need to start getting ready until 7.

I was sitting on my couch watching some dumb reality tv show that I secretly loved when someone knocked on my door.

I got up and opened it to reveal a gorgeous girl. "Hey?" I said confused. "Hey. I'm Emily. I live across the hall. I thought I should introduce myself and maybe make a friend since I'm kinda short of them." She smiled.

She was intimidating but at the same time comforting. She had freckles. Dark brown eyes, almost black. Pink lipstick. Brown hair. Pretty much the exact opposite of my appearance.

"Yeah of course. I could really use a girlfriend since all my friends are guys." I smiled letting her in.

"Must be nice. No drama?" She asked. "Never." I replied as we sat on the couch.

"God all I get is drama. All my "friends" are problematic prissies that jump down everyone's throat with the 'do you know who my father is' and trust me it gets really old." She sighed.

"I hope you're not like that." I said. "Of course not. Never. I didn't come from a very wealthy family. My aunt actually bought me this apartment as a thank you for everything I've done for her family." She said.

"Which is what?" I asked. "Well I babysat her kids 24/7, I helped my aunt through lots of issues she was dealing with, I even taught her kids how to read." She listed off.

"Wow. You must be really intelligent." I smiled blown away. She just laughed a bit and looked down.

We talked for a while getting to know each other and she was actually so nice and amazing. I think I might have found myself a new bestie.

I checked the time to see it was 7:06. "Shoot I have to get ready for a date." I said standing up. "Oh okay. No worries. Here's my number." She said writing it on a sticky notes.

"Thanks. Talk you you later." I smiled as she left.

I quickly threw off my towel and started blow drying it. After it was dry I curled it and threw on a bit of makeup since Daniel said casual.

I changed into a black and white crop top and black leggings then threw on a jean jacket to top it all off.

By the time I was done it was 10 to 8 leaving me a couple minutes to relax.

I decided to make an Instagram account since it had been a few years since everything happened so I should be fine.

I followed all the boys and a couple other accounts I though I'd be interested in. It was strange being back in social media.

I heard a knock on the door interrupting my thoughts. I got up and opened it to reveal the gorgeous Daniel Seavey. "Hey sparky" I smiled. "Hi. You ready?" He asked.

"Yeah." I said looking as Emily was just leaving her apartment. "Emily" I caught her attention. "This is Daniel my uh..." I looked at him.

"Boyfriend?" He asked. "Boyfriend." I smiled. "Nice to meet you Daniel." She smiled. "I'm Emily Reyes. Joeys neighbor and future bestie." She smiled.

I laughed a bit. "Yeah uh we should get going." I said still smiling. "Okay. Have fun." She smiled walking the other direction.

Something about Emily made me wanna be her best friend for life. She was so kind and confident. May I add gorgeous.

I really wanna be her friend.
