Dinner

 Shawn's POV

We walked into the restaurant and I asked if they had a private room and they took us in there. We sat down and started talking until we ordered drink orders. We sat and waited for the cook to start cooking the food. We were having a good time and I saw Rachel popping a pill. I guess she was starting to feel some pain. The chef came out he was very entertaining. He had Damien trying to catch food in his mouth and when the flames came up I made sure to move back. I need my eyebrows. When we finished we went to Cold Stone and got some ice cream. Chanel asked if Rachel could stay the night since it was her last night and how could you say no to that? We dropped Damien off and I gave him the eye before he kissed Rachel. He said he would be ready in the morning. We got Rachel's stuff and went back to the hotel. Everybody was kind of tired so we went our separate ways. I went and took a shower and passed out. For some reason I woke up and it was 3:30am. I got up to get something to drink. When I went in the living room I saw the T.V on and Rachel on the couch. I walked over to her after grabbing a water.

"Why you still up?" I asked.

"I'm just not tired." she said.

I knew she was lying; her eyes were looking tired as hell.

"Really? Cause your eyes say otherwise." I said.

She just looked towards the TV.

"You scared to go to sleep?" I asked.

I knew her getting shot really affected her. She's been putting up a front. She wouldn't answer.

"I know I've never been shot but the first time I saw someone get shot it scared the crap out of me." I said.

She looked over my way then back at the TV.

"Well what did you do?" she asked.

"I was like you, didn't sleep because I kept replaying in my mind." I said. "Eventually it went away, but it took a while."

 She just sighed.

"I wish back then I had someone to talk to about it." I said.

We were quiet for a while.

"It's not that I'm scared, I just keep hearing in my head Damien saying get down and me feeling something hit me." she said. "This all my fault."

 "How is that?" I asked.

"Me and Damien shouldn't have been walking where we were. I should've had my brother drive us back home." she said.

"Look, everything happens for a reason." I said.

"Well I don't know what sign me getting shot is supposed to show me." she said.

"Maybe it's supposed to show you that you can't take life for granted and be happy that it's just your arm and it didn't travel." I said.

"Yeah, things could be worse." she said.

"And trust me this is not your fault." I said.

"Yeah, I know, but it's just the way I feel." she said.

"Look, it's not your fault okay." I said looking at her in her eyes.

She nodded her head and looked towards the TV.

"So you gonna go to sleep now?" I asked.

 She shook her head no.

"What if I sleep out here with you?" I said. "You gotta get some sleep."
