:Chapter 5:

I walked back to the living room to find him standing with a huge grin on his face.  Ever since I told him about the dreams and the watch, he’s had a strange way of looking at me. I couldn’t quite explain it, but I could see hope in his eyes.

I leaded the Doctor to my room and opened the door to my mess. It was purely chaotic, nothing in order and yet everything was in its place in my eyes. Piles of clothes everywhere, my desk covered in useless stuff like books and make up I’ll never wear. The trash can in the corner was full and over flowing.

“So…” he said, analyzing the room closely, “where is it?”

“I have no idea,” I shrugged.

“Jayden, this is very important. So important! Think a little, where was the last place you saw it?”

“I really have no idea, Doctor! I think the last time I saw it was when I moved in about 2 years ago. I set it down somewhere after I tried to open it and it didn’t work.”

“Of course, it doesn’t open until it thinks it should be opened…” he muttered.

        “What?”

“Never mind me, sometimes I talk to myself. Often actually. How often do I talk to myself?” he started mumbling, talking to himself once more. “Ah!” he suddenly said, startling me, “Jayden, tell me, where did you live before you moved here?” he questioned.

I took a moment to think it through. My life before Harrow was a little… fuzzy and unclear in my head.

“I lived in London… Yeah, that’s it, London, on Baker Street,” I nodded.

“Odd how you lived on the same street as the fictional character Sherlock Holmes. And that you don’t seem completely sure of your answer,” he frowned. “Tell me a little bit about you childhood, your parents.”

I was confused as to why he would be asking all these questions that seemed so useless to finding the watch, but nevertheless answered him.

“I grew up in a small house, nothing special. My mother was a dentist… I think. Or was my dad the dentist? Maybe both?” I tried hard to remember. It was so unclear in my head.

“Interesting… Tell me, Jayden, where are you parents now?”

I was completely dumbfounded by his question. Of course, I didn’t have a clue. I didn’t know at all if they were even alive. It was as if they didn’t exist.

“I… I don’t know, Doctor… Oh God! What’s wrong with me?” I asked, suddenly panicking over my forgotten past.

“Nothing, you are fine,” he smiled at me, satisfied for some reason. “Calm down a bit and let’s look for that watch.”

And we did has he said. Together, we looked underneath the clothes and my bed, in the draws and the closet. After an hour, all of this seemed useless. The Doctor found my book of dreams and skimmed through the pages, his smile growing bigger and brighter, he didn’t think it was crazy at all. Finally, when I was near of giving up, he jumped up, screaming, making me scream from being startled so suddenly. I placed my hand on my chest and tried to catch my breath.

“What the Hell?” I asked angrily.

But he was standing straight, holding a small fob watch in his palm with all the weird symbols. I joined him to get a closer look, but it hadn’t changed since I last saw it. He tossed it to me.

“Open it,” he said excitedly, jumping up and down like a child.

I sighed and played with it in my hands as I tried to open it, but it was as if it was sealed. The Doctor frowned and took back into his hands. I walked over to my bed and sat.

“It’s broken or something, it still won’t open,” I shrugged. “I don’t understand why it’s so important.”

“This is maybe the most important object in your life right now, I don’t want to spoil the surprise.”

He started analyzing and tried to open it himself and then it worked. a weird light glowed from inside as he stared into the watch.

        “Doctor?”

But no answer, it was as if he was hypnotised by what he could see. Swiftly, he shut and tossed it back to me, the biggest grin on his face.

“It doesn’t want you to open it yet, but it’s almost there. Keep the watch on you and do not lose it,” he ordered very seriously.

“What are you talking about it doesn’t want me to open it? It’s a watch, he doesn’t have a mind of its own!” I replied skeptically, but he was walking out of the room and to the door. “Where are you going?”

“I’m leaving, I’m done here, I have no reason to stay any longer,” he explained.

“But what about this,” I gestured to the watch. “And what does it have to do with my dreams and… I have so many questions, Doctor,” I said, almost pleading for him to stay.

“And they will all be answered very soon, just not by me.”

“What is that supposed to mean?” I  asked, getting a head ache from all this nonsense.

“You will see. You just have to be patient, Jayden.”

“And you? Who are you? Will I ever see you again? Where are you going?”

“Oh, we’ll meet again very soon, but one of us will be… very different. As for me, I told you, I’m the Doctor. Keep that in mind. Where I’m going? I don’t know and that’s the real adventure!”

And with that, he walked out and closed the door. I opened it right after to chase after him, I wasn’t letting him get away so soon, but it was as if he vanished.
