Bones opens the door to the familiar cabin making this creaking noise on the platform. I follow him right afterwards shutting the door behind me making sure I'm not bringing the rain with me. Bones takes off his jacket which is drenched from the rain and sets it on the couch. He stares at me and brushes past me but in rude way, chuckling right afterwards. I'm getting sick and tired of him. I'm doing absolutely nothing to him and he treats me like nothing.
I turn around to him and he looks at me with a smirk on his face. "Can you stop that" I say respectfully to him but the way he is, he just mocks me.
"Where's Dean?" I say to him changing the subject before I rip my hair off and do something that cause damage to us both.
"Showering" He says and grabs this small white box from the drawer beside him. I pull a confusing look. What's he doing? He then answers my own question when he takes out a small white stick. It is a cigarette. It's what people inhaled to try killing themselves. I remember everything about those killing sticks. We learned a whole lecture about those in my station. He lights it up with the candle near him. Is this what cool people do to look tough because in my eyes it's stupid.
"Really? A cigarette? Do you think it will make you look cool or something?" I say to him and shake my head at this obnoxious fool.
"I don't need cool. I have dignity. Plus this shit is helping me" He says and lets out a ball of smoke into the air filling our environment with more pollution.
"How's that helping you?"
"It relaxes me and also it's taking me to where I'm heading" He inhales the stick and walks over to me. Wait not walking, creeping over to me.
"Where are you heading?"
"To death" He releases another ball of smoke to my face and I go somewhere else as he gives me his signature smirk.
"Why do you want to die? You have so much to live for?" I say.
"What's there to live for?! I'm stuck in this misery" He leans on a wall blowing smoke continuously. I don't answer.
"Nothing much to do here but work and now they put up a game to make things interesting. These fuckers here are trying to get us to be entertained as much as possible before we all wake and see the reality here" He catches my attention with the vile words coming out of his mouth giving me chills.
"What's the reality?" I'm brave enough to get out and he walks towards me slowly going through the smoke.
"The reality is that we are doing nothing but hide as the others fight our battles"
"Why don't you do something about it then?" I ask.
"Because there not my battles to lead" The door opens and then enters the others laughing and talking.
"Then why are you still living?" I ask my last question. He then moves his direction of his head to the others. To Jacob, Dean and Margaret.
"For them" He says to me and leaves outside to the cold world where it pours sadness and strength. I go over to Dean as he seems to be happy of my appearance. I hug him as if It were his last day on earth. I'm careful with his wound not wanting it to get infected or re opened. I take in his aroma of pumpkin sweets and his Fall season feel.
"Hey Norman" He hugs me back and I can feel his friendly goofy smile through his beating heart. I'm glad he's alive. I really am.
"How are you feeling Dean?" I ask him as they carefully place him on the red couch they have in here that brights up the place.
"I'm feeling a bit better than this morning, but I still have a fever with me" He breathes in the smoke that makes him cringe then lays his head on the soft pillow. I can feel Jacob's eyes looking at me from behind my head. It's why the atmosphere is odd. I turn my head a bit and my eyes catch his face, he doesn't have a mad look plastered on his face but a blank one. I turn back quickly and pay my attention to Dean again.
"That's good" I say pulling a smile for him to see.
"Yeah, so when are we gonna go back outside?!" He says and I look at him as if he were crazy. Is he crazy? Was he dropped as an infant? Are you kidding, you just got shot by something out there. How can you ever think about going back now!
"I'm just messing with you! You should've seen your face!" He releases a chuckle which makes me crack a grin. I thought his joke is actually real but that's Dean for you. A jokester.
