I run into the trees going completely in one direction because that's where the city of destroyed buildings is located. That's where Uncle Ben is at. I turn back seeing the main gate lose out of my sight. I can't believe what I just done. I just did one of the bravest things in my whole existence. I stole weapons and resisted. I wonder how pissed off Henry will end up? He's probably smoking. I stumble across branches and rocks as I'm making my way to the city. In my mind all I can hear is the negative things people has told me. I shake it away I'm stronger than that.
I can hear the gunshots get closer. I keep on running and I feel like I'm in the grand games again. I stop next to a tree to be able to hear the yelling I've been listening. They are not just yelling but gunshots as well. I continue running when I finally get there tired but still not stopping my craziness. I look at the sight in front me and it's madness.
I walk on the streets in the invaded trashy city filled with nothing but old memories from dead people. They must be somewhere around. I gotta find them. As I'm walking around I stay quiet throughout the time. I haven't seen anyone yet but can still hear noises that makes me paranoid. I look for the building that is smoking when I see it. Three blocks down from me but I can't just run into the middle of the war zone. I'm almost in the center of the city anything can happen here.
I hear a vehicle behind me and I take cover behind a garbage bin. I wait till the vehicle pass by. I hear the maniacal laughter coming from the scavengers. They pass by and I pick myself up to keep on moving. I head into a building when I see several more scavenger cars pass by. They are everywhere. I stay quiet hiding behind a shelf and I need to hurry or I won't make it on time. I continue by going behind the buildings to finish my movement from behind buildings.
I see the building that is smoking right in front of me and I don't hesitate but shoot through the window letting my own self in. It's quiet again. I can't hear anything but my own breathing in this dark place. I open a random door to see pure destruction. I enter walking in unwelcome. Footsteps enter the room and I take cover behind a desk with the gun close to the rim of my lips. I get spooked when gunshots are fired but that's just the scavengers craziness. He moves to another room and I keep on walking through.
I open a certain door but I'm not so lucky when a scavenger greets me. My eyes widen and he begins to shoot his rifle. I run away as he shoots randomly. I take cover behind a table hearing the footsteps of the scavenger approaching the room really silently along with his giggles. He strolls around and suddenly a grip of my wrist pulls me upward, I launch myself with him towards the wall where he pins me towards it, I jam my fingers in him and he cries out in absolute pain. I fall on the ground and crawl my way toward my weapon that had fallen but he crushes my hand with his large boot causing me to yell from the intense piercing feeling and the scavenger chuckles loudly. He pulls me upward and slams me down on a desk with his hands on my throat making it difficult for me. I force him off me and he squeezes my throat tighter, I reach for a piece of rubble with my left hand then with all my might I rush it towards his temple.
He falls off me, unlatching his fingers from my throat and I regain my breath. I forcefully push myself onto the floor and grab my gun. I stand up to see the scavenger stumbling on objects with blood falling down his side. He laughs out madly again but I don't keep my gun off him just have it aimed on him. He finally is stable and eyes me, growing a disturbing smirk that reads evil. Deep in those ludicrous eyes I beg for him to stop. I don't want to do this. Please. His chuckles get thicker and my grip in my gun is tight through my trembles. Please don't, he runs towards me with a loud shout and a saddening tear slipping don't my cheeks, I fire my first bullet at his chest. The second through his throat and with tears in my eyes I see as he still stands bleeding out with his hand reaching for me one last time but he collapses on his knees. Finally through that crazy behavior I'm able to catch that normal human being I never saw in a scavenger realizing he's dead from suffocating in his own substance.
