The next morning I woke up to the sound of a text alert. I opened it.

Unknown: Go to McDonalds and order. Sit at the table you got to know her at.

I got dressed quickly and ran out the door. I drove to McDonalds and ordered. I sat at the table and received a text.

Unknown: there is a note under the table, read it

I grabbed the note and opened it. The note read:

Pennsylvania, Virginia

I received another text.

Unknown: In about 3 days fly or drive there. Make a good excuse. On the day you leave to go you will receive another text.

I ate my food and went back home. What’s in Pennsylvania? Who am I going to meet or what am I going to do. The suspense was killing me. I grabbed a basketball and went to the gym. As I shot hoops, Iris came out.

Iris: Hey Daniel

Diggy: Hey

Iris: *stands along the wall*

Diggy: We need to talk.

Iris: Okay

Diggy: You know we strictly friends right?
Iris: Yeah why?
Diggy: Just that I didn't want you to think that you and I had something going on because we don't.
Iris: Where is all this coming from?
Diggy: Just a thought...
Iris: Tristen wasn't it?
Diggy: *nods yes*
Iris: I can't believe you fell for that.
Diggy: Well what you said last night about you focusing on me instead of your best friend who could be possibly dead got to me. So I thought I let you know.
Iris: I just wanted to help you get through it.
Diggy: I'll be alright but you should be comforting Tristen, since it isn't going to be the same without Elana.
Iris: Why does everything always have to be about her!!! I hate her!!
Diggy: *turns around from net* what?
Iris: Everything is about Elana. If she is sad, everyone comforts her. If she is going through a psycho phase all attention is on her. All I ever here is Elana is this and Elana is that. Elana is perfect. Diggy is lucky to have her. Oh, what would we do about our precious Elana? Even my own mom chooses her over me!! *starts to cry* I hate her guts! I'm happy she is dead!! *runs out of room*
I put the ball in the supply closet and walked upstairs to the guest room. Iris was crying her eyes out.
Diggy: Iris, Elana doesn't ask for attention. When you are around her and she is sad you can't help but ask or give attention to her because she is normally energetic one.
Iris: She is perfect
Diggy: She's not perfect. She has some deep dark secrets hidden from me. And when I mean dark they are dark. She has some very horrible memories from what I hear. She acts crazy because she can't talk to anyone about it or she feels as if she is turning into her mother. She still needs help. Your mom chose Elana to talk to because it was hard for her to explain to you anything. Don't hate her; just celebrate all the stuff she did for you.
With that statement I left before Iris could even speak. I went back to my room to take a nap. The days go by slower and I feel miserable. Elana knew how to make me smile, laugh, and yell at her. She controlled my emotions like no other. That's why I wish she was here to be with me and do all things she used to do. I remember that Christmas daydream I had of her holding the baby by the tree and the lovely smile she kept on her face. How could I let this fade away?
