Ingrid waited at the camp, once her mother Lagertha returned.
"Ingrid?"
"What you think you'd fight this battle without me?" She questions her mother.
"You have a baby to look after."
"You went into battle when I was a baby, what's the difference?"
"Ingrid your my daughter I don't want you to get hurt, you have a child to look after."
"Mother I'll be fine and Helga is okay, she's safe with Ragnhild and Erika."
"I said no Ingrid, you will stay here and wait until I get back here or go back to Kattegat to your daughter" her mother ordered. Lagertha walked off to plan out battle strategies.
"You carried his child?" A voice says from behind her. Bishop Heahmund stood there watching Ingrid.
"Bishop Heahmund what on earth are you doing here?"
"Your husband kidnapped me and brought me here. I was injured in battle and Lagertha found me" he explains to the shieldmaiden who was watching him curiously.
"What would my husband want with a Bishop?"
"He thinks I'm a skilled fighter."
"He's not wrong about that" Ingrid tells him.
"So you've been blessed with a child?"
Ingrid looked to the bishop.
"Yes."
"Is that what this war is about, you and this child?"
"Ivar doesn't know I carried his child because before I could tell him I was kidnapped by his brother and my best friend. He wants me back and he wants my mother Lagertha to suffer for her crime in killing his mother Queen Aslaug."
"And this is how he does it? By war?"
Ingrid nods her head.
"You must be very important to him and to others as well if they insist war on each other."
"Its not just me Bishop Heahmund, everyone is fighting for something. But is it really all worth it in the end?"

The mother and daughter stood on the hill top with each other just watching the camp down below them.
"Remember this" Ingrid says as she pulls off Thor's hammer from her neck and hands it to her mother.
"You gave that to me, when I went to fight with the Heathen army."
"You kept it all this time?"
"Brought it with me into every battle, I've never taken it off" she confesses to her mother. "Now I'm giving it back to you mother, after all it was your father who made it for you."
"Oh Ingrid." Lagertha placed a gentle kiss against her daughters head.

"Mother if it comes to Ivar killing you I-" but was soon cut off by her mother.
"You will not avenge me Ingrid how could you possibly, you love Ivar and he loves you. Sure your half the reason why this battle is beginning. I took you away from him and I'm going to pay the price and also as well as killing his mother. He's fighting for you and that beautiful child, my granddaughter Helga."

Ingrid looked to her mother, her eyes widened.
"Ivar knows?"

"Yes, we told him on the battlefield before it began, but Ingrid you have to promise me you will not kill him if it does come to me getting killed by Ivar, losing someone you love is unbearable but killing someone you love is torture Ingrid. And I don't want that life for you, I want your life to be happy and be with the one you love. Give you the chance of a life I never got to have properly."
