24. Distant

Okay okay. I know I shouldn't just ignore Luke all this time but I just can't believe he had the nerve to cheat on me, kiss me, have sex with me, and ask about what we are. I mean he's not fully responsible for everything because I kissed him back, I didn't stop us from having sex, and I for some reason felt really bad for just avoiding the topic. I wasn't going to let all of that ruin the rest of the time that I had left with the rest of the group. The boys would be going back on tour around September. I haven't even told the girls that I had sex with him. I'm pretty sure he hasn't told the boys either, and I would like to keep it that way. As of right now, I'm on my way to the house since they said that we were going to have a cook out like we used to. And by cookout, they mean Michael and Calum burning the meat and chicken.

It was my duty to bring the beers, so I bought 2 12 pack of them. Well Ruby will obviously not be drinking. I parked my car in the drive way. I stalked inside the house real quick. "Hey Ana." Bryana was carrying 2 bowls covered in plastic. "Hey where's everybody else?" I ask. "They're outside." She informs me. I walk to the back yard where in fact everybody was, even Luke. Considering that he's been a little distant lately. Calum and Luke were playing soccer. He opened a water bottle to drop all over himself but removed his shirt before. Damn did it just get more hot all of a sudden. Michael was messing around with the bluetooth speaker. Marley was hugging Michael from behind, Ruby was sitting down on the table eating chips while looking through her phone, and of course Ashton was cooking the meat. "Hello everybody." I smile widely. "Aww man you're here." Michael laughs. "The beers are here." I laugh as well. "Do you want me to get them?" Calum asks me as he and Luke come to the porch. "Yeah sure." I say. Luke walks past me with an emotionless face. Calum comes back in matter of seconds with the 2 cases of beers.

As all of us were talking and waiting for the food, Luke hadn't come outside. "Where's Luke?" I ask. "Probably in his room. He's been quiet lately." Ashton comments. Now I really feel bad. He's been quiet and distant with the group because of me. "That's weird." I interject not trying to pull attention. "Well the meat and chicken is ready!" Ashton yells. "Can someone go tell Luke that the food is ready?" Ruby asks giving everybody a plate. "I'll go." Really Nirvana? You should've let somebody else go. My feet make their way up the stairs and in front of his door full of stickers and posters. I remember when we were always eager to have se- what the fuck? Stop it Ana! I shake the memories away and knock on his door. It swings open in a few seconds. "U-um the f-food is r-ready." I stuttered to say. "Aright thanks." He pushes past me again. When he walked past me, he smelled like cigarettes. Is he smoking again? It's not my business so I just went back to the back yard. We all had sat down and grabbed all the food we were going to eat. I was sitting next to Marley and Bryana. Luke was sitting in front of me. "How did the ultrasound go Ruby?" I ask. "It was good, I'm 10 weeks along now. We could find out the gender in a few weeks maybe." She smiles so bright. Calum looks at her with the love eyes. He puts his hand on top of hers. Awww, they are so cute. "Have you already thought about names?" Marley asks. "Zack if it's a boy and Lauren if it's a girl." Calum replies. "No we didn't agree on that. I told you I wanted Hennessy if it's a girl." Ruby chukles. "No! That's literally the name of a famous alcohol bottle." Calum makes everybody laugh. "I don't think I would appreciate Drake using our daughter's name in his songs saying 'I got a hennessy in my hands'." He finishes. "Whatever." She rolls her eyes playfully.

After getting through half the second case of beer, Ashton built us a bonfire. All of us sat around it. "Remember when we had that Christmas party, we performed Mrs. All American and over and out." Michael makes us remember. I thought back to that day. Me and Luke were still together, it was my first time having sex with him, and me getting into a fight with some chick. "Yeah, I remember I got into a fight with that bitch that kissed Michael." Marley laughs. "And Nirvana. We've never seen Ana fight and that was her first time." Ruby says chuckling. "We had a bonfire that night as well and started admitting things. We played never have I ever" Calum said. "Oh shit true." Ashton laughs. Luke looks up like if he was thinking of something and then scratches the back of his neck. He pulls out the pack of cigarettes and takes one out. "I'll be back in 10 minutes." Luke announces. "Where you going man?" Calum pats his shoulder. "I uh gotta get shit off my mind." He replies and stands up. As he walks away lighting up the cigarette. "Since when did he start smoking again?" Michael asks like he doesn't believe that Luke is smoking again. "I know, he hasn't smoked since the day we found out that we were getting a record deal." Calum shakes his head. He started smoking again? I was right.

I sigh and look down at my shoes. Its my fault that he's doing it again. "I don't know why Luke is acting like this. He has problems and he won't even tell his best friend's about it." Marley says so only I could hear. That didn't make me feel any better, It only made me feel worse.
