36. Reunited

- Luke's P.O.V -

You know it's funny how everything works out in the end. I was in a relationship with Nirvana 3 years ago. I cheated on her. I hadn't seen her for 2 years after we broke up, yet I still I knew everything about her. Or at least I thought. She hid her pregnancy from me. We ended up reunited this year. We had our problems and arguments but all of those problems and arguments is what got us here. It made both of us realize that we still loved each other even after all this time. We're happy now and that's what matters. We're going on our 3rd world wide tour. Everything for me seems to be perfect right now. "Babe!" Nirvana yells for me from our room. I was in the kitchen eating a bowl of cereal. "Yes babe?" I respond walking into the room to find her packing clothes into her suitcase. "We leave on tour tomorrow and I just realized I don't have clothes." She pouts. I laugh to myself and look at her. "Baby you have a lot of clothes." She looks straight at me with the ' you did not just say that' face. "Okay true but I want new clothes. Stuff for you and I to enjoy." Nirvana walks up to me and pecks my lips. "You mean for you to enjoy wearing and for me to enjoy taking it off you." I smirk. "That's exactly what I meant." She says and then laughs. "Fine, let's go shopping right now." I tell her. "Thank you thank you babe. I love you!" She gets excited and runs up to me kissing my cheek. "Get dressed then." Nirvana tells me. We already took a shower early this morning mainly because we had a heated moment but, we didn't plan on anything today. I put on my black skinny jeans, a grey shirt, and my black converse. "Are you ready?" I ask her. "Yes sir we can go now." She replied putting on chapstick. "My car or yours?" I grabbed my wallet. "Yours." Ana smiles getting her bag. "Alright. Let's go." I open the door for her. We get inside my car and make our way to the mall. Once we got there I let Nirvana pick out whatever she wanted.

Once we paid for everything, we went to Starbucks and grabbed some teas. "Luke?" I heard someone call out my name behind me. When I turned around I saw someone who I hadn't seen or talked to in a very long time. Don't worry it wasn't another ex it was my brother Jack. "Jack!" I said. He immediately hugged me. It's been 6 years since I'd seen my mom, dad, Jack, and Ben my other brother. "I missed you little brother." He speaks up. "I missed you too." I say. "How are you?" He asks after we break the hug apart. "I've been doing very well. I'm actually about to go on tour tomorrow." I tell Jack. "Damn that's great. I always knew that you're music was going to take you places. This is gonna be the 3rd tour huh?" He asks me. "Yeah. How'd you know?" I ask confused. "Well all of us keep up with you. When we found out that you guys got contracted for a record deal we were so happy. You managed to follow your dreams." Jack tells me. It warmed my heart to know that even after my parents kicked me out of the house they still wanted to know about me and they still believed in me. "How's the rest of the fam?" I ask. "They're great. I think they'd appreciate it if you went to go see them. We're all meeting up at the house for a family cook out today." He says. "At what time?" I ask. "Like right now." He chuckles. "What are you doing here?" I ask him. "Well I was picking Celeste." He replied to me. "You guys are still together?" I asked again. "Yes sir." Jack replied. Nirvana clears her throat. "Oh yeah, Jack this is my girlfriend Nirvana. Nirvana this is my brother Jack." I introduce them. They shake hands and Jack says "It's nice to finally meet you. I knew my brother wasn't gonna stay single for long. He got some good looking genes from me." He said. I punched him on the arm. "I see the big resemblance between you and Luke." She laughed slightly. "Yup they used to confuse us when we were younger." Jack tells her. "How long have you both been together?" He asked. "We were together for a year and 8 months and then we broke up for reasons. We didn't see each other these past 2 years and we recently just got back together like almost 6 weeks ago." I explain to him. "True love always comes back if its meant to be." Jack wisely said. "Are you gonna come see the fam then?" Jack asks me. "Yeah." I replied holding Nirvana's hand. She squeezed it reassuring me that everything was gonna be okay. "Alright I guess I'll meet you there bro." He says. "For sure." I say with a smile. We did the bro hand shake and parted our ways after saying bye. "I'm already getting nervous and we're not even there yet." I say out of no where. "Well of course your nervous. You haven't seen them in the longest time. But hey everything is gonna be okay babe." Nirvana looks up at me. "I know. I just hope they don't start piling things on me as soon as we get to the house." I kiss her lips right after. "Come on. We should get going." She says as we walk out. I tried my best to keep in the nervous feeling but I couldn't. My hands were sweating. I finally made it to the street where I used to live. "I remember my brothers and I would race down the street on our bikes and skateboards back and fourth." I tell Nirvana. I had so many memories here. I mean after all this was my first home. I parked right in front of the house. I got out of the car as well as Ana. I could already smell my dad's famous bq chicken. Nostalgia began to make its way into my head. I took a deep breath before stepping onto the stairs that lead the way onto the porch. I interwined Nirvana and I's fingers. "It's okay baby. You've got this." Nirvana pursued me. I rang the doorbell. The person to answer the door was Ben. "Luke you son of a bitch. Get in here." Ben hugs me. "Its so good see you." I whisper to him. "I knew you were coming that's why I opened the door. Jack texted me saying you were going to be joining us." He tells me. "Who's this?" Ben asks me looking at Nirvana. "My girlfriend Nirvana." I say still holding her hand. "Hi. You must be Ben." Nirvana shakes his hand. "Yes I am. It's very nice to meet you Nirvana. I like the name by the way." He chuckles. "Its very nice to meet you as well." Ana said. "You ready to see mom and dad?" He asks me. "Yup. Ready as I'll ever be." I look down at Nirvana. She sends me a warm smile. "They're in the back yard." Ben tells me. "Hey assholes." Jack comes walking through the door with Celeste. "Sup bro." I nod at him. "Lucas Hemmings. You're so grown up now. You look just like Jack." Celeste speaks up. "Hi Celeste. How are you?" I hug her. "I'm great. It's so good to have you back." She hugs me back. "This is Nirvana my girlfriend." I introduce her. "Hi, I'm Celeste. Jacks girlfriend." She shakes Ana's hand. "Very nice to meet you." Nirvana tells her. "Same here." Celeste replied. We walk to the back yard. Ben, Jack, and Celeste walk out first. "Who was at the door? I heard the bell ring." I hear my mom ask my brothers. I walk out with Nirvana still along side me. "Oh my--.. Luke!" My mom comes running to me. When she said my name, my dad turned around and ran to me as well. They both crush me in hugs. "Son you have no idea how great it feels to see you." My dad says. I missed my family so much. Me hugging my parents after 6 years is almost making me cry, not to sound like a little bitch. "Luke we missed you more than anything. You have no idea how much." My mom speaks up after we break up our hug. "I missed you guys too. I ran into Jack at the mall and he told me to come over." I explain. "Um mom and dad, this Nirvana Harris. She's my girlfriend." I smile at her. "Hi Mr. and Mrs. Hemmings, It's very nice to finally meet you." Nirvana shakes hands with both my parents. "How long have you two been together?" My mom asks me. "It's actually a pretty long story." I say. "Alright well the foods ready? Let's eat and talk." My dad tells everybody.

- Nirvana's p.o.v -

We are already finishing up eating and talking. Luke got to tell his family about how everything happened our senior year, when they got a record deal the next following year, everything. I got to talk about myself as well. "So I um, I'm going on tour tomorrow. It's the beginning leg of the tour." Luke tells everybody. "Wow honey we're so proud of you. Hopefully we can go to one of your concerts." Mrs. Hemmings said to Luke. Once everybody was done we cleaned up and went inside. "Would you like some help with the dishes Mrs. Hemmings?" I asked her as Luke, his brothers, and dad were talking. "Yes honey. Thank you. You could call me Liz." She smiles at me. "I haven't seen my son in a long time but I could still recognize when he's in love. Thank you for making him happy." Liz tells me. That made me feel 100 times better than I did before. "Thank you for having such a wonderful son. He's a very smart and loving person. He's made such a big impact in my life." I say washing up some dishes. "If it's okay for me to ask, why did you guys have such a fall out?" I asked shutting my eyes as soon as I asked. I don't even know why I had the idea to ask that. "Well he was just a young troubled kid. He messed around a lot with his friends." I knew that she was talking about Ashton, Michael, Calum and Marley. "He began to do drugs with Calum, Michael, Marley, and Ashton. I loved those boys like sons of my own. Marley as well. But they started to get out of control. After I kicked him out of the house, I never reached out to him because I figured that he wanted nothing to do with us. Especially since I told him that he and his friends were never gonna get anywhere. They proved me wrong though, they seemed to have went though a sudden phase. They became impeccable successful young men. You have no idea how sad I was to find out that he was graduating and we wouldn't be able to see him graduate. Or when Luke and the guys were barely becoming successful with their music. I would've loved being there to support him." Liz tells me. "Even if you weren't there physically, you were in his heart no matter what. I know that for a fact." I tell her. "Thank you sweet heart. I'm sorry we had to meet on these circumstances. I would've loved to meet you earlier if possible." She chuckles. "Its okay. Luke and I dated during senior year and after. We had some problems right before he left for tour. We broke up for quite some time. We tried to fill in the void with other people but it turned out that I loved him too much. He loved me as well. After 2 years passed by, they came back from their 2nd tour this year. I was assigned to do magazines and books on 5 seconds of summer. That's how we reunited. He and I couldn't hide our love for each other. Sure we had some bumps on the road but we got through it. I'm so blessed to have someone as wonderful as Luke." I say and look over at Luke. I smile to myself. "I haven't been this happy since what feels like forever. I finally have my family back together." Liz says. "Luke honey." She calls out for him. "What's up mom?" He replied. "Why don't you invite the boys over?" She asks. "Really?"Luke's eyes pop in surprise. "Yes. I want to apologize to them and hear everything we missed out on." Liz told him. "Okay I'll call them right now." Luke says sending a text to our groupchat. "Just a heads up, Ashton is married, so he'll be bringing his wife. Michael got married to Marley Like 2 months ago. Calum has a girlfriend who is now pregnant." Luke chuckles because Liz's face is pure shocked. "What? I've really missed out on so much. I always knew Michael and Marley were going to end up together. I saw them kissing in our backyard when you guys would play soccer outside one time. Where has the time gone? Don't tell me you guys are next to get married." She laughs. Luke and I look at each other and begin to crack up. "No mom we're not getting married yet. One day but not yet. We did almost get married before I went on our first tour." Luke explains to his mom. I felt butterflies swarm around in my stomach do to the fact that Luke said one day we'd get married. Later on the rest of the group got here. All of us began to talk to each other. Liz and Andrew told me that they wanted to meet my parents. I called them over and they came. They had a blast talking to Luke's parents. I hadn't told my parents that Luke and I got back together so when they got to the Hemmings's house, they were in for such a surprise. My parents were happy though. My dad told me that they always knew Luke and I were going to be together again some day. Today was a great day. All of us needed it. Especially Luke.
