I quietly slipped into room 219, just in case Alexandra was sleeping. I brought my guitar this time ready to sing to her. Alexandra was not sleeping, in fact she was wide awake.
“Dev!” she exclaimed in delight.
“Hey,” I said.
“Yay, your back! I was so bored.”
“I told you I would be back, didn't I?”
“Yeah you did. Did you bring the boys?”
“No, they're playing soccer.”
“Oh.” Then frowned a bit, then bit her lip.
“Don't be sad, you'll be out there, playing with them soon, right?”
“Yes! I'm getting released tomorrow!”
“Great.”
“Yeah.”
“I brought my guitar this time.”
“Yay!” she squealed in delight. “Are you gonna sing me another song?”
“Yes. Dedicated to you.”
I played the intro and started to sing.
