Naruto's Older Sister

Chapter 22

After the wedding it was time for Mito to say goodbye to Sasuke. But before he left they both had time to talk.

They were walking across a bridge at sunset.

"It still feels strange without you Sasuke..." Mito started gently "There's so many things we can't do... without a skilled shinobi like you..."

"Yet, you seem kinda happy, Mito." Sasuke said in his usual tone.

"Huh?" she asked confused.

"This is a trip to atone for my sins..."

"It's just with the recent incident..."  she began, "Just......... I just wish I was there next to you..." she sighed.

"..." Sasuke slightly blushed.

Mito went Chibi in realization at what she had just said in front of Sasuke. "F—Forget what I just said!" She said, panicked. She flailed her arms.

Sasuke said nothing.

Mito blushed. Smiled brightly and widely with her eyes closed. It was a soft smile like nothing happened.

Sasuke blushed, but the expression on his face was still neutral.

They were now sitting at a restaurant.

"You know it's funny," started Mito, "back when we were kids I always thought that my younger brother, Naruto, would be the last to get married. But look at him now...  He's the first." She said softly.

"Back when I was a genin, I never thought about the future nor marriage. I had but one goal. It was to kill Itachi." Sasuke said in his usual tone.

"But now you know the truth about Itachi?"

Sasuke didn't respond.

"It's okay, I know how you feel I'd be devastated if I lost Naruto... it's not your fault... you didn't know..."

Naruto, Ino, Choji and Temari were looking through the window of the restaurant in the background. There eyes sparkling at the sight of Sasuke and Mito, except for Naruto who was yelling accusingly at Sasuke as he was alone with his sister, flailing his arms around.

Mito and Sasuke couldn't hear Naruto as he was outside just looking from a window.

Ino and Temari slapped him multiple times. Sounds of the fight still weren't visible.

Mito thought back on what happened at Naruto's wedding and what happened when Sasuke left the village it was the most magical moment of her life.

"What if... I told you I'd come with you" said Mito.

"I'm leaving this village to atone for mid sins...and.........My sins have nothing to do with you" said Sasuke.

Mito was anime depressed as her head dropped down and said "Nothing to do with me, huh?" She said.

And then something she never would have expected happened.

Sasuke gave her an unexpected raincheck. "Mata Kondo na."

Mito looked at the couples and seemed a bit jealous and upset all she had was what she thought was a silly crush on Sasuke. She looked up at her father's Great Stone Face when she noticed a brown eagle flying towards her. She held out her arm for the eagle to land and got a small paper from a small bag strapped on the eagle's leg then let the eagle go gracefully as the wind caused by the eagle's wings brushed through her hair, causing it to float beautifully and slightly in the air. She unfolded the peace of paper and read おめでとう  (Congratulations).
