Emily POV

I drop my bag on the floor of the trailer. My back is aching, and I still have homework to do. I pull out my economics and honors biology textbooks. As I am finishing problem 19 out of 20 for economics and the last dissection question for honors biology, I hear a knock on the door.

"Come in," I say out loud.

Jerome walks in with a shy demeanor.

"H-Hey." He almost whispered.

I smile softly and say, "Hey. How are you?"

Jerome looked back and closed the trailer door. He then calms himself and begins to talk,

"I-I'm sorry that I-I couldn't walk you to school. M-M-Mother got upset when I tried leaving early this morning. She's passed out on Ambien, so I left her in the trailer."

I wanted to tell Jerome what I had heard but decided not to. I reply with,

"It's okay. I'm just finishing up some homework here, and I'll have some free time afterward."

Jerome nodded and said,

"Well, I can come back, and I can take you around the grounds."

I nodded and said,

"Can you come back in 30 minutes or so? I should be done by then."

Jerome then replies, "Sure. I'll be back then." He smiles and walks away.

30 Minutes Later

I finish what work I had to do. Jerome opens the trailer door and says,

"I'm back. Have you finished already?"

I smile and nod.

"Come with me," Jerome says.

He extends his hand, and I take his hand. Jerome escorts me through the circus, and we go to buy some popcorn, sodas, and cotton candy. Jerome takes me to what looks like the other side of his trailer. There, he had a projector set up on a table and a reel of film.

"What is this, Jerome?" I ask inquisitively.

Jerome stands in front of me and says,

"I-I want to make you happy, and I figured that if you can't enjoy going to the movies alone, I'd bring the movies to you. I rented out the film reel for the movie 'Laura.'"

I then see a blanket laid out with two pillows and an extra large and fluffy blanket to cover the both of us. On top of the pads was a single red rose.

"I love it, Jerome. Thank you so much." I respond with such delight.

Jerome smiles and sets the food on the blanket so he can set up the projector. I sit down and smell the rose that was given to me. I couldn't believe that Jerome had set this up for me. I felt so happy that someone cared for me. I have only been here for maybe a week or two, and someone likes me. Jerome flicked the projector on, and we began to watch the movie. Jerome and I start eating and sipping our drinks.

55 Minutes Into The Film

We are on the scene where the homicide detective is interrogating laura. Jerome and I have already eaten and drank our sodas. Jerome and I wrapped ourselves with the fluffy blanket. Jerome hasn't made a single move on me. Not that I want him to, but I like the fact that he's a gentleman.

"Don't fight your sleep. You can rest your head on my shoulder, Emily." Jerome says to me.

I scooted closer to Jerome and pressed my head on his shoulder. Jerome chuckled and said,

"I'm having a wonderful time with you, Emily."

I look towards him and say,

"I am too, Jerome."

As we look up at the screen, we see the two main characters kiss. Jerome lifts my head to look at him. He and I are moving closer and closer. Finally, our trembling lips meet. Jerome and I are kissing. Oh, God! He's a fantastic kisser!  I can't believe that this is happening. I don't want this night to end, ever.
