Two Months Later

"So are you coming back for the break?" Aunt Matilda asks. I chuckle and say, "Yes, Aunt Matilda." "How are the professors taking your...condition?" I sigh and say, "Well, they are giving me less work but they are allowing me to take my finals after the baby is due. The professors are very understanding. One of the professors is saying she can give me an A if I work at Arkham Asylum for only 1 month but when I said why I couldn't, she told me that I can work as an intern and not run into Jerome." Aunt Matilda sighed and said, "Well, you can. Maybe only work for 3 hours and leave. I hear they give 10 an hour." I finish packing and say, "I don't know. I'll think about it. I'm doing fine but I need a break and I don't want to hurt the baby. Speaking of hurting, you didn't sell the gun I had, did you?" "No. I don't know why you have a gun. I also bought you two more. Is it really necessary?" Aunt Matilda asks. "Yes, we live in the most dangerous city in the world and I don't feel like dying before this child is born. I didn't take 2 weeks of those classes for nothing." Suddenly, I hear a horn honking. I peek outside and I see the cab waiting to take me to the train station. "I got to go. I'll see you at the house, Aunt Matilda. Okay, goodbye. Love you." I hang up the phone and I take my bags. "Hello, Emily." the taxi driver says.  "Hi, Jeff." "Nope! Give me those bags. A woman in your condition shouldn't carry any bags." I chuckle and get into the cab. As I sit down, I stare at the ring I have on my left hand. I never took it off, even after he was convicted. The cab starts to move towards the train station.

Two Hours Later

I arrived at Aunt Matilda's house. After the events with Jerome, she left the circus, bought a nice house and has waited for me to move back in. I walk in but Matilda wasn't in. I place my bags in my new room and go to wash my face. I felt hungry ever since I became pregnant. My cravings are weird. I wanted to eat some artichoke hearts but saw that there were none. I write a note to Aunt Matilda saying that I was going to the store. I then decide to walk to the store since the car was gone and the store was literally around the corner. As I am walking down the neighborhood, I see that there are hardly any cars in the street. I arrive at the store, heading to where the artichokes were, and ask if there were maternity stores nearby. The woman was kind enough to call me a cab and tell me that there was a store in the downtown area. I head outside to wait for the cab. As I am waiting, I see that there are police cars flying through the streets. My heart began to race. The woman calls me to come inside and wait with her. She had already called the cab and canceled it. Before I could ask what happened, she immediately says, "There has been a breakout at Arkham. 6 people escaped. Look, they're saying it now." The woman turns up the TV and the newscaster says, "6 inmates from Arkham Asylum have escaped. We have been able to identify the inmates. So far, we have Barbara Kean, Jerome Valeska, Aaron Helzinger, Robert Greenwood, Arnold Dobkins, and Richard Sionis. As of right now, these escapees are considered armed and dangerous." Suddenly, the sound left the room. Questions were racing through my head. Why was Barbara locked away? How did they escape? Was Jerome going to come for me? I have never been so afraid.
