Emily POV

I raced back home and ran into the house. I already knew Jim was going to come after me for being at the scene of the crime. My luck ran out. Jim was following closely and arrived 2 minutes after me. He began to bang on the door. "OPEN THE DAMN DOOR, EMILY!!" I didn't want to open it. Instead, I screamed, "You want me? Come and get me!" Suddenly, the door burst open and there stood Jim. "What the HELL were you doing there?!" I backed into my room, trying to shut the door. Jim then pushed the door in and grabbed me by my arms. "You could've been killed! Why do you look for danger?!" I push Jim back and say, "I tried to save Jerome from you! You would've killed him on the spot if I hadn't intervened!" Jim wanted to say something back to me but was interrupted by a phone call. "It's Lee. Don't move, Em. Hello?" The volume was low on the phone and I wasn't able to hear properly. "Alright, I'll be there soon." Jim looks at me and says, "Lee called. I got to go back. Don't try anything stupid." Jim walked away and closed my door. I sighed and went to the kitchen. I decided to cook pasta with red sauce. After properly cooking it, I then pour myself some milk. After eating and reading a few chapters of The Collector, I decide to take a small nap in my bedroom. My heart was still racing from the scare of Jim and Jerome. My eyes start to droop slightly as I begin to drift to sleep.

4 Hours Later

I awoke to Aunt Matilda coming into my room. "Emily, you need to see this!" She immediately turns on the TV and there was Jerome. "Hello Gotham City!" Jerome was smirking as he lifted the camera close to his face. "We're the Maniax! And I'm Jerome, the shot-caller of our little gang. We're here to spread the message of wisdom and hope." Jerome kept smiling at the camera and was interrupted by someone groaning. He rolls his eyes and shoots the man in the chest. I jump as I see this. "Some people have no manners. You're all prisoners. What you call sanity, is just a prison in your minds that stops you from seeing that you're just little tiny cogs in a giant absurd machine. WAKE UP! Why be a cog? Be free like us. Just remember, smile! Oh - time to go. But don't worry, we'll be back very soon. Hang on to your hats folks, 'cause you ain't seen nothing yet! HAHAHA!!" Jerome laughs maniacally as he places the camera onto the floor and it cuts to black. My heart sank as I see this. Jerome has had the entire department massacred like lambs led to a slaughter house. As Aunt Matilda is talking, I immediately get up from my chair, grab my car keys and head to the GCPD to offer help.
