Emily POV

Sickness was creeping on me. The perks of being pregnant. I rush to the bathroom and I vomit in the toilet. After flushing and brushing my teeth, I head back to the couch but something tells me to call Jim Gordan. Before I could dial his number, he is already calling me. "Emily, I hate to say this but I need you here." My mind was running at a thousand miles. Where did he want me at?  "The Gotham's Children Hospital is having a function and Jerome is here. Please hurry!" With no other explanation, he hung up and I hurry as fast as I can. I jump in my car and speed away. A normal 2 to 3 month pregnant girl would be resting but If I had a shot at protecting Jerome, I would. After what seemed forever, I arrive at the gala. I sneak in and I'm pulled behind a curtain by Gordan. "What the hell-?" I said until Jim shushed me. He pulled the curtain away and showed me that Lee was taking hostage and Jerome was holding a young boy hostage with a knife at his throat. "That's Bruce Wayne that he is holding. You have to convince him to stop all of this." The pressure was building. I was scared of having Bruce killed and Jerome. Jim hands me a small caliber gun. I take a deep breath, and as soon as I heard footsteps from Jerome's cronies, I start firing. BANG BANG BANG BANG!!!!  I shoot four of the henchmen in the head. People were screaming and had immediate horror. Jerome smiled as he saw me approaching him with the gun drawn. "Well, well. My lovely Emily. I'm so glad you came by to see my triumph." My voice started to shake as I told him, "Jerome, please don't do this. This isn't you at all. Please, I love you and only you. You and I can work through this." Jerome was smiling when I said this. "Do it for my sake and for our child. I love you Jerome Valeska." His hand was starting to lower from Bruce's neck. Suddenly, a voice says, "I said enough." There was a tall man with slick black hair, wearing a tuxedo, and had a glint of arrogance in his style. Jerome turns to face him when suddenly, the man stabs Jerome in the neck. People gasped and shouted. My hearing went out and I could hear high pitched noises. Dread suddenly filled my heart and soul. "NO!!!!!!!!" I screamed. I rush up stage, pushing the man out of my way to hold Jerome in my hands. I tried to cover his wound but the blood was coming out profusely. Jerome looks at me and says, "You are the love of my life. Goodbye Emily." Jerome died in my arms, while grinning. I held onto Jerome while bawling. I couldn't believe it. Jerome was dead. The father of my child was gone. All I had was hatred and sadness. I needed Jerome in my life and now he was gone.
