Jerome POV

After literally dropping people off of buildings, the boss felt that we needed to make yet another statement. We were broken out of Arkham yesterday and already there is tension in the ranks after Greenwood tried to question my crazy, yet stylish way of being a leader. After deciding who the Maniax wanted to target, we decided that youth won the day and we chose a bus full of screaming and annoying cheerleaders.

Emily POV

Yesterday, Jerome and five others had escaped Arkham. I also found out that the reason why Barbara was sent to Arkham was for killing her parents. She was nice to me when my parents died. Aunt Matilda told me that I should stay home but I can't since I need to look for a future job. The university has allowed me to do my school work at home and after the birth of my child, I can go back. Every week, they will send someone to collect my work. I scan the paper to see what jobs are there but none of them cater to my needs. I felt useless so I decided to take the car and drive around. I decided to see Jim and check on how he and Leslie were. I arrived at the station and parked the car. As I am exiting the car, I see that there are news reporters and lots of police officers from different districts. I slightly push my way in and see that Jim is inside the station and giving a summary list of who escaped and how they are dangerous. When he went to talk about Jerome, my heart stopped for a while. I could see when Jim puts Jerome's picture on the screen. He looked so crazy but I feel as if I 'm betraying him by saying that about him. After Jim finishes his presentation, I make my way to him. Jim responds by hugging me tightly. "Hey, Jim. You'll hurt the baby." Jim looked at me with wide eyes. "Baby?" Jim took me to the his captain's office and shut the door. "Baby? It's Jerome's?" I nod silently. Jim was overcome with either emotion or anger. "Are you divorced?" My face suddenly changed. "What does that matter? I heard what happened yesterday and now, you're angry that I haven't divorced? So much for support from you, Jim." Jim stood from the chair and said, "I'm happy for you. Truly, I am but Jerome is out there and he can find you, kill you and your unborn child for kicks!" I wasn't happy with how Jim reacted. I grabbed my purse and said, "I just came by to see how you were but if you insist on being a jackass, I'll just leave." Jim then got up from his chair to block my exit. "I'm happy, Emily. I'm sorry. Please stay." I sigh and tell him, "You have too much going on. I can catch up with you later." Jim smiled softly and hugged me. "Be careful Emily. I nod and smile at Jim. I care for Jim but he always looks at the bad side of things. I leave Gotham PD to head back home.

30 Minutes Later
As I am driving home, I see that there is a gasoline truck that is blocking my way home. I stop the car and I look to see what the problem was. I hear  faint screaming coming from looked like a school bus. I see two people outside, guarding the bus and another four on the other side of the bus. I sneak to my car to get a small gun I had bought for protection and I telephoned Bullock to let him know about the bus. After the short call, I then slowly approach the bus. "Boss!! Someone's here! Come quick-" I then shoot him before he could stop talking. The other man then came charging at me before I shot another two rounds in his knee caps. Jerome then came outside, just in time to see the police cars coming by. "Well, well, well. Lookie here, boys. The cops are here." Jerome obviously failed at lighting the bus. Jerome smiled and said, "Stand your ground, boys. They can't shoot at the bus!" Immediately, the police and the Maniax were having a shoot-out. I then popped from behind one of the vehicles and shot at one of the associates in the foot. "Boss! Right there!" He pointed in my direction. Jerome looked up at me and stopped in his tracks. His mouth slightly dropping at the mere sight of me. A grin slowly forming across his face. "Jim, buddy! I have a proposition for you!" "Alright, I'm listening!" Jerome was walking towards my way but I quickly went under the vehicle to stay away. No matter where I went, Jerome was there. "We have a mutual friend hiding under this car right here!" At the same time, he pulled me from my legs as I struggled against Jerome. I felt the cold steel of Jerome's gun against my temple, playing with my thoughts as I immediately thought of death. "I will let you have your cheerleaders if you let me take Emily with me." Jerome covered my mouth as I tried screaming for Jim. "Please, Jerome. You don't want to hurt the future mother of your child." Jerome's dark laughter changed suddenly. His hard grip became soft and almost tender. "Jerome, please let me go." I whispered. Jerome grabbed onto me and says, "You're my obsession. I'll never let you go. I love you too much. Another time then." I felt a kiss on forehead and a push towards the ground as Jerome started to shoot at Jim. Jerome jumped onto the gasoline truck, laughing maniacally. Jim was headed to the bus along with the other police officers. I slipped away towards my car before I could stopped.
