After a day of traveling, we made it to Dublith. Dr. L/N had only given me the first name of this doctor who made me. Dr. Gerald.
"Do you know of a Dr. Gerald?" I asked Y/N.
"No. Let's see if someone here knows who he is."
We started asking people if they knew who he was and where he was currently living. Some said he was dead, some said he was alive and in hiding from the military, others would walk away from me because of how I looked. Others ignored us completely. It was hard, but we eventually found someone.
"Excuse me, ma'am?" Y/N asked.
"Yes?" the woman replied.
"Do you happen to know Dr. Gerald? Someone said he's residing here in Dublith."
"Dr. Gerald? Haven't heard his name in years. He's living on the edge of this small town. By the river. Should be a black and red house. Number 45."
"Thanks, ma'am."
"Please, call me Izumi."
"Thank you, Izumi."
"Well?" I asked.
"Someone has given us the location of Dr. Gerald."
"Great. Let's go."
We started heading there when we ran into a few criminals. Y/N had taken a wrong turn and now we ended up in an alleyway and lost.
"You're the reason we're lost!"
"Look I'm sorry, Envy! But we make mistakes!"
"I know damn well we make mistakes!"
"And like you're a perfectionist here!"
"I said that we all make mistakes! I'm not saying I'm perfect. No one on this planet is perfect."
"Hey, seems like you're lost," came a voice.
I turned around and saw three men in front of me. I turned and saw two behind me. We were surrounded. I knew they were thieves. They lived in these areas and seemed that they were poor.
"We're not lost," I snarled.
"Well you were just yelling about how she got you guys lost," said the second man in front of me.
"Yeah," the first one agreed.
"Look, we're not trying to start a fight, but we need to get somewhere," Y/N said.
"Where are you heading to?" asked the third in front of me.
"None of your business," I snarled.
"Oh yes it is. You're in our town now. You have to follow our rules."
"No we don't," Y/N said.
"Yes you do!"
"Y/N, I need you to hightail it and run," I whispered to her.
"But what about you?"
"I can handle these guys. I know their weakness."
"Come here!" one yelled.
"Now!" I yelled.
Y/N ran and I transformed into one of the guy's girlfriend. I smirked at him as he watched me change into his lover.
"What's the matter? Never thought to see your girlfriend here," I said.
"You're not my girlfriend," the man said.
"What makes you say that?"
"You were just someone else a moment ago."
I changed into another person that one of them knew. Their father. "I can be whoever you want me to be."
