"Richard!" Y/N said as he walked through the door.
"Hi, Y/N," he said and pecked her lips. "I picked up someone other than mom and dad."
"What do you mean? I thought you were just going to get them."
"I ran into an old friend of yours."
He turned and I was now in the spotlight. I looked up, being dragged away from my thoughts. I looked up. That H/C hair. The length had gotten slightly longer. She still had those E/C eyes. Those gentle eyes. They reminded me of Becca's. She had gotten a bit taller the last time I saw her. I still had about three inches on her. She walked towards me and I stood where I was. It was a bit awkward, but it felt natural. She wrapped her arms around my neck and I wrapped my arms, slowly, around her waist.
"It's been a long time, Envy," she said in my shoulder.
"It has been," I said.
"You've gotten taller."
"So have you."
She pulled away and looked into my purple eyes, "Did you return home?"
"I did. I talked to Becca."
She smiled, "That's all I need to know."
I set my things down and we all gathered around the table and ate. Richard, Y/N, and his mother and father were all talking to each other about the wedding. I was sitting there, picking at the rest of the food I didn't consume. Richard and Y/N cleaned up the kitchen while his parents were getting settled in. I had my bag by the door. I wasn't going to stay here. I walked out and sat on their small deck they had. I looked at the city lights. I leaned against the apartment wall and sat on the small wall they had built to prevent kids from jumping over it. My leg hung from the side wall. If I were to fall, it wasn't going to be that bad of a fall. I looked at the wristband once more.
"What am I going to do, Becca? I have fallen for her, but I don't think she realizes it."
"Who are you talking to?" Richard's father asked.
"No one," I stuttered.
He smiled and pulled up a chair, "The city lights are wonderful, aren't they?"
"I've never seen city lights until now. This is my first time in Central."
"Well, we should give you a tour tomorrow. Y/N has the day off and so does Richard."
"I'd love to, but I should find a place to stay."
"You already have."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I saw how you two looked at each other, Envy. There is still love between the two of you."
"How do you know we ever liked each other?" I snarled.
"When we would visit Richard and Y/N, she would always talk about you. Asked Richard if he's heard anything about the homunculi."
"Why is she getting married to him?"
"He still thinks she loves him. She doesn't."
"Then why doesn't she get out of this relationship?"
"I asked her many times. She said she doesn't want to break his heart. Besides, I think there's something more to it."
"What do you mean?"
"Can you do something for me?"
"Why do you trust me?"
"I know you can change your appearance. Richard doesn't know it though. He goes out every night after he knows Y/N went to bed. He leaves to go somewhere. I need you to do that."
"Understood."
That night, at 1 AM, Richard got up and left the house. I was awake and was following him. I was waiting outside in the lobby as a house plant. What a surprise. I get called a palm tree once and now i have to act like one. Anyway, I turned into a random person I saw days ago and followed him, trying to make it seem like I wasn't. I watched his every move. I took photos of it with Y/N's phone and Richard's father's phone. He was at a bar and he met up with a young lady. They had a few drinks and started making out. I grew a bit uncomfortable and disgusted.
"Hey, I love you," he said.
"I love you too," she said.
That was enough proof. I had gotten audio recording and made it out of there. I made it back to the apartment and made it in. Richard's father was waiting there for me. I handed his phone back to him. He looked through it and checked the audio.
"I'm sure this is enough we need."
"I knew this was going to happen all along."
I was on my way to give Y/N her phone back, but she was awake when I walked in.
"Envy?"
Shit! "Hi, Y/N," I smiled nervously at her.
"What's going on?"
"Nothing," I said, trying to hide the fact I had her phone.
"What's behind your back?"
Shit! "Nothing. What makes you say that?"
"One of your arms is behind you."
"Just scratching my back, Y/N."
She came over and reached behind my back and ripped her phone from my hands.
"Why do you have my phone?"
I sighed, "There's something I need to tell you."
I talked to her and showed her the photos and the audio recording. She shook her head, "Richard would never do that."
"Y/N, quit pretending you love him."
"What do you mean?"
"I know you don't like him anymore. And I told you, he was going to do this. Find another attractive person and make it like you were nothing to him. Don't you see, Y/N? He never loved you."
She cried slightly and leaned into my shoulder. I wrapped my arms around her shoulders and tried to calm her down.
"It's ok, Y/N."
"No it's not!" she got up and started pacing. "Are you just jealous, Envy?"
I got up and confronted her, "Who said I'm jealous?"
"Don't play this card, Envy. It's in your nature."
"It's also in my nature to care for people who have given me everything. I took care of Becca. I need to take care of you."
"What?"
"I need to take care of you, Y/N."
"Why?"
I grabbed her by her shoulders and pinned her against the wall. I then backed away, paced a bit, and slammed my hands onto the wall, "You humans are dense," I smirked. "Look, Y/N, I didn't mean to scare you. But I need to tell you something."
"Just spit it out, Envy."
"I care about you. I want you to give me everything."
"And what does everything mean?"
I leaned in close to her and pressed my lips against her's lightly. She was shocked, but she melted in. Her's pressed against mine. Her hands snaked up and wrapped around my neck. I slid my hands down and around her waist. I moved away and looked into her eyes.
"Everything means you."
