~5 Years Later~
All those five years went by so quick. The master was taken down. Edward Elric and Alphonse Elric are somewhere in this world. The world around is starting to modernize itself. Lust, Sloth, Wrath, and Pride are dead. And I think Gluttony is dead as well. Greed had died in the hands of Edward Elric. I had met him while I was with the others. Now I remained the only homunculus left here. After all those five long years, I felt like I was free from all of them. I grabbed my things and headed back to the village. I came in through the forest and stopped by Becca's grave. I had visited once with Pride. He had asked me what happened to her and I did not want to relive what I saw in the basement.
I set my things down and wandered over to a field of flowers. I picked a few and placed them on her grave and sat down.
"Hey, Becca. I know I should be calling you mom ever since you told me I could, but it just feels weird calling you my mother. I know you were a good mother to me and motherly to others you took care of. I know I haven't visited since four years ago, but I thought since I'm on my way home, I'd come by and visit. Things have changed since I left with the other homunculi. They other six are dead. I learned that Dr. L/N and his brother were trying to get all of us together to make one super homunculus. That didn't work out. Y/N found out about her father and uncle and fled to Central. I still think she's with the boy I met before leaving. I wonder how she's doing. Anyway, I should let you get to your peace. I promise I'll come and visit. Bye, mother."
I grabbed my things and got up. I brushed the dirt off my shorts and walked down towards the village. Everything changed since I last came here. The houses were now modernized and looked so different. There were still fruit stands. I had came in and grabbed some apples before leaving to head to Central. There was finally a train station at the end of the woods. I saw it as I was approaching Dr. L/N's old cottage. Living inside there now was a married couple looking to get away from the noise in Central. They had a daughter and a dog. I had never met them and never wished to meet them. I was walking by when the door opened up and a dog and a child came running out. The dog jumped up on me. This was surprising. The dog tried to lick my face, but I tried backing away from the dog. The little girl was trying to get the dog away from me. The father rushed out and grabbed the dog by the collar.
"I'm so very sorry about him. He just loves seeing people," the father said.
"No harm done," I said.
"Where are you off to? It seems like you just got here from a long journey."
"I'm heading to Central," I said.
"Central? Why there?"
"There's an old friend of mine waiting for me."
"I see. Well hope to see you soon."
"Bye, palm tree!" the little girl said.
I turned and looked at her, "You think I look like a palm tree?" I asked.
"Yep," she said innocently.
I slightly smiled at her, "Is it the hair that does it?"
"Yep."
I smiled at her and walked off. The father, daughter, and dog walked back into the house. I purchased my train ticket and headed on towards Central. After what happened, everyone now knows who I am and what I am. But that didn't stop people from treating me like I was a human. Some days I didn't mind it. Other days I did. A few people were whispering about me. I could tell because they used the term homunculus. I sighed and stared out the window.
After a while, the train came to a stop, which shook me awake. I looked up and saw I was here. I grabbed my things and headed off of the train. I walked around the station and saw Y/N's boyfriend there. He waved to me. I sighed to myself and walked towards him.
"Nice to see you, Envy," he said.
"Richard, a pleasant surprise."
"I was just here seeing if my mother and father had arrived."
"Why's that?"
"They're just here visiting."
"How's Y/N doing?"
"You haven't heard the news?"
"What news?"
"We're getting married."
I looked at him, "M-married?"
"Yeah. We're getting married at the end of the year. Five months from now."
I looked at the ground, "Oh. Well, congrats."
"What's the matter, Envy?"
"Nothing. I'm just, happy for you."
"Really? You're not Envy-ious?"
"Hahaha," I laughed stiffly.
"I'm just joking, Envy. There's my mother and father," he said as he waved to his mother and father. They walked towards us. This was going to be an awkward introduction.
"Richard, you look so handsome," said his mother.
"Mom, stop. Not in front of Envy."
"Envy? Who's this young fellow?" she asked.
"Mom, dad, this is Envy."
"That name rings a bell," said his father.
"He's the homunculus that was seen five years ago with the others," his mother said.
"Richard, what are you doing hanging around with a homunculus?" his father asked.
"Mom, dad, please let me explain. Envy's not all that bad. Sure he has his moments, but he's nothing to get upset about," Richard said.
"Please, give me a chance to prove I am no harm to your son," I said.
"We'll give you one chance, Envy," his father said.
I nodded, "I'll make sure not to screw it up."
"Now, shall we head to Y/N? She got off early," he said.
We all followed Richard towards their apartment. While I was walking, it was just me and my thoughts. Getting married? They've been together for at least five or six years. What would it have been like if it was different? What would it have been like if I told her how I felt? It doesn't matter now. Not while they're having preparations getting married and being together for the rest of their lives.
