The transmutation circle lit up as he reached into his shirt and brought out something. I took a closer look at it. It was a watch I used to wear. But it didn't make any sense. My father opened it up and brought out one of my baby teeth I had lost. I was done for. He put the watch on the transmutation circle. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach. I fell onto the ground and clutched my stomach with my one hand. I coughed and a few of the red water stones came out of my mouth. I coughed again, more and more coming out. If I didn't get out of there, I would soon die. I looked at my father as he stood in front of me.
"I never should have created you in the first place."
"What the hell are you going to do?"
"Once you're dead, I can die knowing all of the homunculi are dead. Knowing that the world is at peace."
"The world will never be at peace," I said as I coughed up more stones.
"Envy!" Riza called.
I looked up as she ran towards me. She shot my father in the head. He fell on the ground as blood poured out from his forehead. The transmutation circle dimmed and I fell onto the ground. I grabbed the remaining stones and did the best as I could to shove them into my mouth. I laid there as I swallowed the last stone that was on the ground. Riza ran towards me and dropped to her knees.
"We shouldn't have come here, Envy," she said as a few tears ran down her face.
"No. We should have came. Riza, do something for me, would you?"
"What is it?"
"Burn that watch and tooth. Burn it."
She nodded and burned the items and came back towards where I was laying.
"We're going to get you help, Envy."
"Thank you," I said and closed my eyes.
"Envy! No, Envy! You can't leave! Y/N is waiting for you! Y/N is waiting for you to return home! Return to her!"
I woke up with a sharp pain on the left side of my head. I slowly got up and saw I was in a hospital room. Riza was sitting in a chair beside my bed.
"Riza," I said quietly.
"Envy, you're alright," she said.
"What happened?"
"After you blacked out, I took you to Ed and Al. They took care of you while we finished off the rest of the people that was on your father's side. Your father had been announced dead."
"I knew he was going to try to kill me."
"Why?"
"Even though he tried his damn hardest to get me back, when he found what I was turned in to, he left. He left and found the watch I always wore. And a tooth my mother had kept. It was the first tooth I had lost when I was a kid. He had that with him. I sensed it, but I sensed it too late."
"At least you're here, Envy. Here and well."
"Is Y/N ok?"
"She's doing fine."
"How long have I been out?"
"A couple of days."
I nodded, "When will I get out of here?"
"In a few hours. We need to make sure you're doing alright."
"Riza."
"Yes?"
"Thank you," I said.
She smiled at me, "You're welcome, Envy."
She walked out and I was left alone once again. A few hours had passed and I was on my way to the apartment. Roy had given me the box back. I was going to take Y/N out as soon as I got back. I walked into the apartment.
"I'm home, Y/N."
She came out from the bathroom and threw her arms around me.
"I'm glad you're ok, Envy."
"I'm glad you're alright. I need to take you out somewhere."
"What?"
"Come on!" I said happily.
She grabbed her coat and I walked to the train station.
"Envy, where are we going?"
"I need to talk to Becca real quick."
We arrived at the small village and I headed over to Becca's grave. I smiled to myself as I held Y/N close to me.
"Hi, Becca. It's been sometime before we last spoke. I'm here with Y/N. We're doing well. Hopefully we have a future together. I'll talk to you later, mother."
We walked away and made our way to the cottage she used to live in.
"Envy, can you please tell me why we're here?"
"I will. Do you remember what happened here? Seven years ago?"
"I remember running out of the house to come with you to Dublith."
"Exactly. I remember coming in the cottage and meeting you."
"Envy, what does this have to do with us being here? And what do you mean 'we hope to have a future'?"
"Just as it says."
"What?"
I smiled and grabbed her hands, "Y/N, seven years ago I had met you. I had met Becca. I was raised in this village. You were raised here as well. Seven years ago, I was cold and harsh to humans. Other than Becca and on occasion, you. You went to Dublith with me and tolerated my attitude, rudeness, and my occasional out bursts. I had met you here seven years ago. And since then, those were the best seven years of my life."
"What are you trying to say, Envy?"
"Well," I said growing a bit nervous. Some blush appeared on my cheeks as I looked into her eyes.
"I fell in love with you seven years ago. I just didn't want to admit it to you. But look at what we did together. We had a lot of crazy in our lives, but I hope that we don't have to go through anymore crazy. But if I would, I'd go to hell and back for you. I'd risk it all just to have you." I looked down and saw a few tears streaming down her face. I smiled at her and wiped them away. "Here goes nothing," I said underneath my breath. I knelt down and took her hand. "Y/N L/N, you have given me something no one ever has. You loved me in my darkest of times. Cared when I was down. Acted as a mother when I needed it. And you were right beside me all throughout our crazy life together. Y/N, would you make me the happiest homunculus in Amestris? Will you marry me?" I asked as I pulled out the box from my pocket and opened it up. She smiled at me, more tears streaming down her face.
"Yes. A million times! Yes, Envy."
I smiled, stood up, and slipped the ring onto her finger. She looked at it for a few moments and then wrapped her arms around my neck. I wrapped mine around her waist. I kissed her and she kissed back. Best. Day. Ever.
