It has been nearly a hundred years since Y/N had passed away. I remember that night like it was yesterday. The blood coming from her mouth, the way she looked at me, and how she went in my arms. I could have saved her. I was about to commit the taboo. But something stopped me. It was the thought of my father making me. It was the thought of her not being herself when she came back. That's what had stopped me from performing human transmutation. I brought her back to the village we grew up in. I buried her next to Becca and talked to both of them. I told Ed, Al, and Winry when I went to Resembool for the last time. A hundred years later, I'm wandering the streets of Amestris. No friends, no family, and no one to talk to. I was walking around with a black hoodie on and jeans. I wore worn out tennis shoes. The wrist band Becca had given me had been burned. Every time I look at it, it reminds me of the two most valuable people I ever had in my life. And now they're both gone. When Ed, Al, Winry, Roy, Riza, and all of my other friends passed, I truly felt alone. Now there is a new generation of people who knows their story. I am still the only homunculus in existence. Some people kick me out of their stores because of who I am. Some are happy to see me because of what their kin passed down from when they were alive.

But just like time, it took them away from me. Currently as two hundred years old, I've met people I will never forget and people I wish I could forget. Some were nice, some were not so nice, and some were just pure evil. I made sure I stayed away from them. Amestris has changed since Y/N and all of them had died. Train stations shut down because of the manufacturing of the car and other auto mobiles. They were becoming very popular as the years grew on. As for me, I was still walking the streets of Central. I moved out from the apartment and moved to the streets. A few people were trying to be hospitable, but I declined everything they offered. But one day, I ran into someone who would change my life. I was sitting in a coffee shop drinking some tea, when a young lady comes in and joins me.

"Hi there," she smiled.

"Hello," I said.

"I see you're from around here. I've been to this coffee shops many times and see you here."

"And your point is?" Ever since Y/N died, I grew into a cold homunculus I was. There was no one who could warm that cold, harsh heart of mine.

"You just seemed lonely. In need of a friend."

"And you think you can be my friend?"

"Yeah, why not?"

"You're not afraid because of who I am?"

"I've heard stories about you," she said.

"What do you know about me?"

"You're Envy the homunculus. You served at least ten years with the military. You were close friends with Colonel Mustang and you met a nice girl and eventually married her. I thought homunculi were incapable of having human emotions."

"Well that was two hundred years ago."

"You're two hundred years old?"

"Closing in on two forty actually."

"So homunculi are really immortal."

"Yep. And I've seen different faces of the many years I was here in Central."

"Do you see some that look the same?"

"What do you mean by that?"

"I believe in reincarnation. Like the same soul goes into different bodies. They have the same attitude as the person with the soul. But sometimes the body the reincarnated soul goes into is very similar to the body they once had."

"Reincarnation, huh?"

"Yeah."

"When I was around twenty years old, there was this thing called human transmutation. It was a taboo among alchemists. I'm sure you heard of the famous Elric brothers."

"Yeah I did hear their story."

"Well that's sort of like reincarnation. Except, it's not the same soul and not the same body. Different soul and a completely different body. No one can make a perfect human being from a dead one. So what's the point? Nothing is worth a human soul."

"Well reincarnation is different from alchemy."

"What makes you say that?"

"I've seen people be reincarnated."

"What's your proof?"

I finally got a good look at this young lady. She had the same hair length as Y/N's. Same eye color. Same hair color. But her facial structure was different. Along with her physical form. She was a little slimmer than Y/N. I shook away the thought trying to focus on what she was saying.

"Does that make sense?"

I nodded and she put away the photos and the paper she had written on.

"Can I ask you something?"

"Sure."

"What is your name?"

"My name is Y/N."

This is it. This was the one. Two hundred years of searching. It had taken me two hundred damn years to find the incarnation of my Y/N. This might not be the same person she was two hundred years ago. She does seem a bit more different than my Y/N.

"I hope to see you around, Y/N."

"Wait, hold on."

"What?"

"You're name is Envy. Doesn't envy mean jealousy?"

"Who said I'm jealous?"

I got up and walked out of the coffee shop. Here we go again. Two hundred and fifteen years ago, I met my Y/N. Now, two hundred and forty years later, I found her incarnation. I've been searching all this time and now I've finally found her. And the cycle repeats itself. I will fall in love, go through hell, and then marry her. Maybe she can have a child this time. But who will know? Only time will tell. And maybe, just maybe, I can do it right this time.
