《Chapter 9》

Holy crepe

The the elders stopped and stared at me as I tried my best to will the deck of the ship to swallow me whole. It didn't work. Awfully rude of it.

Before the silence dragged on for too long, the one with the long, white beard snapped his attention to Lloyd and the others, semi-glaring.

"Why are your masks off in front of a civilian?" He inquired calmly. Which, strangely enough, scared me more.

"I- we- uh..." Lloyd stammered, fumbling wtih the fabric of his mask in his hands as he looked down. "She, uhm... She guessed it was us... And uh... Yeah..."

"She guessed? So you just decided it was okay to reveal yourself?" Asked the other man, his voice deep and rustic.

The Ninja nodded, bowing their heads shamefully.

The woman lifted an eyebrow at me. I gulped. "How'd you guess?"

"Um... Well, I recognized their eyes a-and their voices..." I replied, shuffling my feet.

"Hmm, the only way for that to be true is if you're a regular bully, or that new friend they've been talking about. What is your name?" Pressed the gruff man standing beside her.

All the elders had their eyes on me, I could tell even though I wasn't looking. Heat ran over my shoulders and I felt the pin prickles of panicked embarrassment follow suit down my spine. "My-my name is Y/N L/N."

"So you're the girl who punched that Josè boy to protect Lloyd?" The woman asked, her voice softening to make room for delight and amusement. When I looked up, I noticed her eyes danced with the same emotion.

I nodded. "Ye-yes."

The man beside her smiled widely, a smile similar to the one Lloyd often gave me, that smile that I had become so familiar with and happy to see.

I gave him a small, nervous smile in return.

"Ah, yes! Y/N!" He said, moving forward, reaching out and grabbing my hand to shake it profusely. "I'm Lloyd's father, Garmadon. It's so nice to meet someone who doesn't totally hate our family!" He said, his smile not leaving his face anytime soon.

My eyes widened and glinted in a mixture of amusement, surprise and excitement.

Here, in front of me, excitedly shaking my hand like a little kid with the cutest smile, was the previously known 'Evil Lord Garmadon'.

Hhhhhhow?

I giggled before replying. "It's nice to meet you too, Mr... Garmadon? Mr Lord Garmadon?... Mr... Lloyd's Dad... Sir?" I pulled a face, trying to figure out the respectful way to address him.

He laughed in reponse, letting my hand go. "Just Sensei Garmadon is fine."

I smiled awkwardly.

Garmadon turned around, pointing at the woman he had previously stood next to. "That's Misako, my wife. Hi Koko" he waved at her.

"Hello dear." She turned back to me, giving me a kind smile, inclining her head in my direction. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Y/N"

I returned her gesture. "You too, Mrs-"

"Just call me Koko."

"O-oh... Okay, sorry."

Garmadon pointed to the other man with the beard.

That must be that Wu guy then.

"And that's my brother, Wu. Call him Sensei Wu, or he'll have a hissy-fit."
