*Connor's POV*

"who was she?!" Riley said in an overly zealous tone.

"Dani," I smiled slightly at the thought of her. Even though I had just met her, she was stuck in my head like that new Katy Perry song and I just kept replaying our conversation, "why?" I was hoping that Riley wasnt interested in her. Besides, she approached Me not Him.

"she was hott," he put his hand on my shoulder but I shrugged it off, "I mean... She is really pretty." he sensed that I was uncomfortable with him talking like that about a girl I just met.

"she's really cool actually! She's just turned eighteen like me and she's in a band too!" I felt like I was back in elementary school, bragging about a shiny new toy that no one else had. It felt good to talk about someone like that. I had just recently ended a long-distance relationship and even though I haven't really been looking for anyone, along came Dani...good timing? Maybe. Was it an accident meeting her? Not at all.

"please tell me you got her number..." he looked at me seriously and I wasnt sure if he meant for him or for myself.

"no... But I did give her my phone number and told her that we should hang out sometime." I smiled confidently, feeling like I did the right thing by giving her my number. That quickly faded when Riley opened his mouth.

"what the hell dude!?" I looked at him confused, what did I do wrong? "youre supposed to get her number and then You text Her and make plans while you're at it! Girls expect guys to make the first move. Get with it bro."

By that time I felt like I was screwed and only hoped for the best: that she would text me and I could ask her on a proper date.

I wish I had a time machine. I could've gone back in time and asked her for her phone number and I could've been texting her already. Way to go me I had already failed at talking to this chic and I want sure it I would here from her ever again. And I still wasn't sure if Riley had alternative plans for him and Dani in the future. If he ever did I would've hi him and called dibs like we do on the last coca-cola in the fridge.

But that's beside the point. The point is that Riley was right for once about me not aski g her for her number and I couldn't stop kicking myself over it.
