I feel like throughout this whole party that I've barely seen Adri. It's as if every time I finally see her, I'm being pulled away by someone else, desperately wanting to talk to me. I honestly just want some alone time with her before we leave for tour. She is my girlfriend and I should be spending most of my time with her at this point anyways. If only there just... weren't any people around. If it were just her and I, things would be perfect.
I know for a fact that tour is going to mess with our relationship, but I don't want it to turn into something we can't fix because I really do care about her and would do absolutely anything for her to be happy. I'm sure she's not one-hundred percent thrilled with the whole tour idea, but she is going to smile her way through because that's the kind of person she is. Usually when she is upset, she would rather people not know it, and I've picked up on this habit of hers. She would rather have people think she's happy for the sake of making someone else happy. But tonight- I'm prepared to make sure she really is happy, and that me leaving for a while should be of no concern to her.
After walking around and avoiding as many people as possible, I found her in the kitchen, making sure everything was in order and being anti-social. "Hey babe," I said as I walked up behind her and wrapped my arms tightly around her waist. She smiled, but it didn't seem like her normal, genuine smile. It was more distant...and forced. I kissed her softly on the cheek and turned her so that she was facing me. "You okay, hunn?" I asked, taking her small fragile hands into mine. She didn't say anything, she simply shrugged her shoulders.
"I'm fine..." was all she managed to say.
"Sure you are," I said, catching her bluff, "you know I can tell when you're lying to me...?" finally a small laugh escaped from her mouth. "How 'bout we go somewhere else, just you and I?"
"Are you sure?" she questioned. Not sure why she wanted to make it seem like I should stay but I really didn't want to.
"Absolutely. We can head out to the park or something if you want. Anywhere really...just as long as I get to spend some one-on-one time with you." I smiled and placed a soft kiss on her forehead as I hugged her tight.
"Alright... we can go then. I would rather spend time with you alone than half the people here."
With that said we escaped the crowd and made our way over to the park. The sun had started to set as we walked along the dirt trail, hand-in-hand. We hadn't said much and just appreciated each other's company, and I guess that's mostly what needed from one another. Just the physical aspect of us being together was comforting and I would spend every second of every hour with her if I could. I've come to realize that she is literally one in a million, no- the only one in the world, that could ever make me as happy as I am today. I hate to compare her to Tayler, but everything about Adri is nothing like her. Which is exactly what I need. She is, in my eyes, the image of perfection. Nothing that Tayler could've ever been to me.
After a few minutes of walking in silence, we sat down on a bench that was hidden amongst a few trees. I looked down at Adri, who was looking up at me with bright eyes and I couldn't help but smile at how beautiful she looked. In that moment it hit me. It really hit me that I am falling for this girl and I had to tell her now, before tour, to reassure her that me being away from her for so long, would be nothing but a minor bump in the road in our relationship.
"Hey Adri....can I tell you something...?" I said hesitantly, not sure how she would react to what I have to say. Her smile was gentle and she nodded her head, saying that I could tell her anything and everything that was on my mind. "So...I know me being on tour isn't going to be easy, for either of us... but I just wanted to let you know that nothing could ever get in the way of our relationship. I wish you could come with me, just so I don't have to go through the struggle of not seeing your face everyday or being able to hold you or kiss you.... because being without you even for a few hours is hard to go through. And I guess what I'm trying to say is that...I love you." The last three words just flowed out of my mouth without hesitation, and telling her that I love her felt good.
Her face instantly became bright and red, and it was noticeable even though the sun light was dimming. Her smile grew wider and wider as the words sank in and she pulled me close and kissed me softly. "I love you too, Braiden." She said confidently.
We love each other... and not like some random crush kind of love, but the kind of love in the movies, you know? I've never had that with anyone, such a strong feeling of passion for one person, the feeling of never wanting to let go. If only I could just freeze time, just for a while and stay right where I am with her for as long as possible.
Knowing that we both feel the same way is comforting, and makes our relationship that much stronger. This is the way things should be with two people in a relationship.
