Could There Be Something More?

On the drive back to my house, Dani and I were jamming out to eighties rock music, and we were so full of energy the whole way back. The song "Don't Stop Believing" by Journey came on and she quickly changed it. "Hey! That was a good song!" I scolded.

"I know, but it's so overplayed! Even now." She said as she stuck out her tongue, "c'mon... You'll get over it hunn." The next song that came on was "We Built This City" and we both got really excited. She pumped up the volume and the windows of the car were vibrating. I started to roll the windows down when suddenly the roof of the car was folding down behind us. The music was blaring in the air around us and we started singing as loud as we could, "We built this city...We built this city on Rock and Roll!" It was one of the best moments her and I have shared. I looked over at her driving with a huge smile on her face as the words to the song flowed out of her lips, and her hair blowing wistfully in the wind. In that moment, it was her and I against the world.

I finally snapped out of my daze when the song ended and we reached a stop light. We burst out in laughter at how bad we both sang and she lowered the volume before the next song began. "Oh my gosh my stomach hurts!" She really couldn't stop laughing and neither could I, "that was fantastic! You should sing like that more often!"

I tried to hold back my laughter as I spoke, "definitely! I think the girls would go crazy if they hear me sing like that!"

"I know I would!" She continued laughing and I looked around to see if any cars were near us, I noticed that the streets were empty.

"Hey, switch spots with me. I wanna drive!" I said as I unbuckled my seatbelt. She looked at me weirdly.

"Why...?"

"Because I said so!" She hesitantly got out of the car and I took over the drivers seat. I was kind of nervous because I was afraid that something would go terribly wrong and she would hate me for life. But all nerves aside, I started driving.

I'm sure she felt how nervous I was, being that I was driving a Porsche for the first time in my life. She changed the music station to indie pop and Lana del Rey's dark and sultry music started to play. My nerves settled in and I could hear Dani quietly singing along. I was doing fine. No need for me to panic at all. I kept driving and pulled over into my driveway. "You know, if you wanted to drive back you should've just told me," she let out a small laugh and smiled.

"Well I wanna show you something! And I just wanted to see if you would let me drive your car to begin with." I got out of the car then made my way around to her side to open the door and help her out.

"Why thank you, kind gentleman!" She said in her mock British accent. It sounded so natural for her. I wasn't even going to attempt my mock accent for her, it sucked.

I took her hand and led her into the house and up to my room. "So... What's there for you to show me in your room that I haven't seen?!" She asked, "it's the same... Unless you got a new mattress!" She jumped onto the bed and just laid there. "Nope. Same squishy mattress!" She giggled and sat up.

"It's nothing in here that I want to show you, silly! Mind you, it is cleaner than the last time you came over." She helped me organize all of my things last time and I've maintained it ever since. She ended up getting really tired during the process and took a nap on my bed as I was still putting things away. I didn't mind, she had helped quite a bit and I didn't need to wake her up. She finally woke up when Adri called her right after I had finished. That was a good day too.

"Yeah! It looks good," she smiled wide and crossed her legs, "so what did you want to show me?!" I grabbed her hand and pulled her up off of the bed.

"You're the only person that will know about this okay? It's gonna be fun. I promise." I smiled and she looked at me confused.

"Okay... So... What is it?" She said nervously.
