Speak Up (part 2)

*Braiden's POV*

This couldn't end the way I wanted it to.

There were questions, angry remarks, hurt feelings, tears, and nothing but sadness. I felt like shit.

But it had to happen sooner or later. We couldn't have possibly continued our journey together happily. She needed to understand that. "I tried, Tayler. But you didn't do the same. You shut me out."

She wiped her face and looked up at me. all emotions aside and said, "Who is she?"

I was confused, "what do you mean?" I bit my lip.

"Whos the girl you're leaving me for? Or that you were seeing behind my back? Is she here?" Her eyes started to fog with tears again. Did she really think I cheated on her?

Then something slipped out. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to either, "She has nothing to do with this." I Literally screwed myself over with that one. She screamed and slapped me hard across my face. It was as if she had a million pins and needles on her hand and jammed them all into my face at once. I held my water bottle to my cheek as she stormed off. I hadn't noticed till then that everyone was looking at me.

But the person I really wanted to see wasn't there.

"what the hell was that?!" Riley hissed at me. I was still in shock about the events that had momentarily occurred and I just stood there searching for a familiar, warm face. "Earth to Braiden?!"

I stumble to speak but the mangled words managed to find their way out, "I umm... Broke up with her." as soon as I said that I saw her. She was looking for me., I could tell. Dani spotted me first and headed towards me without Adri at her side.

"you are sooo lucky she didn't see any of that! Now let me see your cheek." for a small girl she was pretty demanding. I wasn't about to take my chances in questioning her so I moved my water bottle so she could investigate the damage. She let out a sigh and searched through her bag. I caught another glimpse of Adri and Connor luckily lead her to where he thought I would be, even though he very well knew where I was. "Thank God we have the same skin tone colour!" she wiped my wet cheek with a paper towel and applied cover-up to my cheek. Ew. Makeup. "there. It's as if you never got hit!"

"Nice work, Dani!" Riley exclaimed as he slipped his hand on her lower back.

She slapped away his hand and smiled, "I know. Now let's get you to Adri, shall we?"

"we shall." we're the only words I said as they walked with me.
