So close yet so far away

*Dani's POV*

The room was small and the walls were painted navy blue. We were sitting on a small black couch and on the ends were two other gray seats. The seats faced a large flat screen mounted on the wall and was beneath it are three different game consoles and a cd rack filled with games. Wish I had a room solely for hanging out... But I don't think Adri would like it if I kicked her out of her room and made her live in the living room so I could do that!

"So, Dani..." we talked about almost everything and this was the point where we felt like we had nothing more to talk about. Turns out we have quite a few things in common and that's what carried on the conversation., but now we were just sitting there awkwardly. He finally continued to speak,"just curious but...what made to wanna hang out with some guy you just met at a concert?" he smirked as I tried to come up with an answer. What drove me to come over here and talk to some stranger?

I just blurted out the first thing that came into my mind, "It was mostly Adri's idea. To be honest, I was hesitant about it. I mean no offense but for all I had known you could've been a creeper or something... I don't know?!" well that didn't come out the way I planned...not at all. "but what made you want to invite me in the first place?" haha! Now it's his turn to answer!

"well first of all no offense taken, and second... I really don't know." he ran his hand through his hair and had a puzzled look on his face. He didn't know why he invited me over? So... I basically came here for no reason whatsoever. Well that makes me feel better. He noticed the distraught expression I had and realized he waned to change his answer,"actually I really wanted to get to know you. You seemed like such a cool girl when I met you last night and I was right." he smiled and I couldn't help but blush.

"You seriously think I'm cool?" I smirked and waited to hear what he had to say.

"seriously," he sat up and leaned closer to me so I could hear every word that was coming out of his mouth perfectly, "you are so down-to-earth, you're nice, we have a lot in common, and you're gorgeous,really..." he bit his lip and I could not believe what he had just said.

Well most people would say that I'm materialistic, a bitch, no one really ever liked the same hints I did...and he called me gorgeous. He said it so frankly and right when he did he looked m dead in the eyes and told me. I've never seen myself as gorgeous so I didn't think that anyone would see that in me. Gorgeous... I looked back at him and smiled. "You...you think I'm gorgeous?"

He smirked,"Absolutely. You really are and I thought you should know that." I felt chills running down my spine and didn't know how to respond.

"Thanks," I looked down at my hands and pushed my hair out of my face,"you're pretty attractive yourself!" I looked up at him and smiled wide.

"I try!" he winked at me and we started inching our way closer and closer to each other. He slowly placed his hand on the nape of my neck and my eyes fluttered shut. I felt the tip of his nose touch mine and just as his lips were about to meet mine...

"Hey Connor I was just wondering- " Connor and I pulled away from each other and saw Riley standing at the door and he looked at us suspiciously,"I was umm... Just wondering If you called the guy from Backbooth about our gig tomorrow."

He rubbed his neck, "Not yet...guess I should do that before I forget, huh?" he bit his lip,stood up, and awkwardly put his hands in his pockets.

"you don't have to now if you're busy..." Riley looked at me and back at Connor.

"not anymore..." Connor looked at me as I sat there with my legs crossed and mouthed the words 'I'm sorry' to me. I stood up and half smiled, "I'll go call the guy now."

He walked out and I followed. Of course Riley would ruin the moment.

That was moment that I was so close to kissing Connor...
