Pinch me I must be dreaming

I don't know what came over me. What possessed me to kiss him! But I did.

His lips were soft and cold from drinking so much water. I hadn't told anyone, but I've never had my first kiss until tonight. He wrapped his arms around me and kissed me back. Deeper even. I felt a whirlwind of emotions racing through my body. Excitement, joy, complete and utter happiness. I made life happen. Seems like the student became the teacher in this situation. His lips parted from mine and he pulled me away from the crowd for more privacy and he kissed me again, softer this time. He half smiled and looked into my eyes as if he were searching for something. I bit my lip and he caressed my face. What was going on? Really.

He opened his mouth to say something but shut it tight. We stayed silent for a few seconds, his eyes locked on me. I broke the stare. I scanned the room for Dani, but she was nowhere to be found.

Where'd she go?

I saw Connor frantically pushing through a crowd of people. He spotted Braiden and I; we still hadn't said a word to each other.

"Where's Dani?!" Connor said, concerned.

"I last saw her with you.. What happened?" I told him. He seemed flustered.

"Don't worry about that right now," he snapped at me, "I really need to talk to her. Explain things!" he took a deep breath and looked at Braiden who was standing there, listening but no contributing to the conversation. "Do you know where she is?"

"Not a clue," Braiden responded. Of corse he didn't know either, we were too busy kissing each other. Yet, he didn't bother to speak to me. I Winston why..."Do you know where Riley is?" he asked Connor.

"Nope..." he sighed. "Maybe he's with Dani." He didn't seem very happy about this possibility. "Well...we're gonna hear out soon. We'll meet outside after I find her. I don't know," he ran his fingers through his hair and slowly walked off. I looked down at the floor waiting to see if Braiden would say something. I decided to look up.

"Look, I really like you but..." we both started. "Sorry, go ahead," he said.

"No. You first."

"I really like you, but I just got out of a relationship." I totally understood where he was coming from. He was upset about Tayler breaking up with him. He looked at me and half smiled, "maybe we can take things slow."

I was confused for a moment, "what do you mean?"

"Well... We wouldn't be dating per say, but we'd be...seeing each other." so dating but not dating? I don't know how these things work. I just thought if a guy liked you, you liked him. You ended up dating. Plain and simple. "But it'd be a little more exclusive than an open relationship."

If he wanted to take things slow, then so did I. I didn't want to risk my chances of being with him as just a friend. "Alright, we can take things slow." I smiled slightly.
