To text or not to text...?

*Dani's POV*

I just can't get Him out of my mind. Ever since Adri and I left, I have been debating whether I should text him or not.

But he did give me his number for a reason right? All I have to do is pick up my phone and text him. It seemed like such a minute task, and I do that all the time with other people so this shouldn't be any different. But it was...

"Dani, just text him already!" she saw how I was staring at my phone for a good 5 minutes, "he gave you his number and he's probably waiting by the phone to hear from you. So just do it." really? Just do it. Was she trying to convince me to text him or to buy a new pair of Nikes?

Nikes. Just another reminder of him. Ugh. I guess I should text him. I have nothing to lose if I do text him.

I picked up my phone and typed in the number . I gave Adri a a nervous look. "I don't know what to say! I already sounded super lame the first time we talked and I don't wanna make that mistake again!"

She looked at me as if I was speaking in Swahili or something. "just say hey, dont overt think it."

"easy fo you to say, you don't have the pressure of having to text Braiden first." just as I said that I already knew how she was going to respond. And I was right.

"no.... But I do know what is like to be on the other end of the line! Braiden hasn't texted me yet and I feel like I'm going crazy! So if I were you, I would've texted him as soon as I left!" maybe she was right for once. I don't know.

I can do this. I slid up the keyboard on my phone and typed away. I probably re-typed he message at least fifteen times and I ended up saying hi and who was texting him. I was hesitant to press send until Adri took the phone and pressed SEND for me.

Who knew a minute could feel like forever.

I saw the screen light up and the sound of my ringtone resonating throughout the room. I let out a small squeal and picked up the phone. "Adri, he texted me back!" I felt my face getting warmer. I honk I was getting more excited about him texting me back than the actual text itself.

Connor: hey Dani!:) what's up?

Me: not much, just chilling with Adri. :) how bout you?

Connor: just hanging out with Riley, Braiden, and Thomas.:)

Thomas? This was a new name to me. Maybe he's another guy in the band. That's beside the point.

Me: Thomas... I don't think I met him yesterday did I?

Connor: no, but he's the drummer in our band. I actually wanted to ask you if you wanted to hang out today?

He wants to hang out with me! I looked at Adri with wide eyes and a smile that could've been seen from a mile away. "He wants to hang out with me!"

"No way?!" I could sense a bit of jealousy in her tone. I don't blame her, this Braiden kid still hasn't texted her.

Me: yeah that'd be great:) just let me know what the plan is!

I didn't say it but I was thinking it: I can't wait.
