Celaena burst back into her bedroom and hurriedly folded the tapestry back into place. She needed air. She ran towards the balcony thrust open the French doors and took a deep breath before doubling over and vomiting up her breakfast.

"No training for you today then I guess." said Chaol from behind her. Celaena whirled around and glared at Chaol.

"Oh no Chaol," said Celaena impersonating one of the timid couriers. "I feel as if I might faint. Carry me to my bed, will you?"

Chaol grunted as Celaena grinned.

Celaena sat in bed wondering what Nehemia wanted her to do. How was she supposed to get out of the castle? And there was no question: she would have to take Chaol with her because the King would kill him other wise. Chaol was sitting in the chair next to her, fast asleep. Great. Celaena settled down to read a good book.

Celaena must have fallen asleep because Chaol was the one to wake her up. Chaol's idea of waking somebody up is to shove them until they wake up, so by the time Celaena was awake she wasn't in a very good mood.

"Chaol." whinnied Celaena. "It's too early." Chaol grunted.

"It's 1 o'clock in the afternoon."

"Fetch my slippers."
