Marina unsheathed her Slicers, as she referred to them as. The Slicers were two long thin blades Marina kept hidden in the folds of her dress. They were perfect for slicing through skin and bone as the name implied. Marina grinned, showing her pearly white teeth and slowly advanced on the first human. He was a fat, short man who's eyes were red rimmed from crying and his bottom lip was trembling. Using her magic, Marina camouflaged her Slicers and gracefully glided towards the man. She flicked her raven hair out of her eyes, knowing she would be irresistible. He looked up from steering the barge and Marina smiled, showing all her teeth. The mans mouth dropped open and Marina hide a sneer. It had been too easy.
Marina eyed the barge man with her deep black eyes and cocked her head to the right. His mouth was still open and Marina grimaced as a line of spittle travelled down his face. As Marina came closer a horrid smell washed over her and she nearly vomited- the man smelt like fresh fox poo. That would upset her stomach greatly. Suddenly the man seemed to recover his voice:
"Um...can..can I help you...Miss?" He asked, wiping the spit from his grubby chin. Marina nodded, resisting the urge to hold her nose. "Yes," She told him, "You can."
The man grinned like a foolish child: "How can I help you, Miss?" He asked, an evil glint in his eyes.
"Do you have some people staying on this 'grand' vessel of yours?" Marina questioned, accenting the 'grand' however the man didn't seem to notice as his chest puffed out with pride.
"Yes I do, Ma'am!" He said proudly, "They are the first customers of many!"
Marina very nearly snorted. This man was an idiot. However she just smiled again: "They are good friends of mine." She lied and sighed dramatically, "I haven't seen them in an age."
The man seemed a bit disapointed at the lack of attention but he pointed to the over side of the ship: "Over there." He grunted, a bit disgruntled. Marina smile turned into a grin- the Fae was over there and probably suspected nothing. Her stomach rumbled loudly. Not even bothering to say anything else to the smelly man she bared her teeth and lauched herslef into him- ripping out this throat as she went.
As his lifeless body fell to the floor, Marina wiped her bloody nails on her cloak and flicked her tougue around her sharp teeth. She looked down at the body and considered eating his heart as a light snack, but then decided against it. She would need an empty stomach if she was going to eat a Fae. Her stomach grumbled in agreement. She kicked the mans body under the rails on the side of the ship and didn't stop to watch as it sunk under the choppy water.
The Fae better watch out, thought Marina, for I am coming.
