~3rd Person POV~

"I'm all for crazy ideas, but this one is too insane, Simon," North stated, following the PL600 to where they had placed (Y/n)'s body. He ignored her and entered the room full of lifeless androids. Simon found his lover's body and pulled out a memory transfer chip from his pocket. He slipped it into her memory processor and waited for all her memories to be transferred to the small object. "Hey, are you even listening?!" North shouted.

Simon glanced at North from over his shoulder. "If you had a chance to bring back Markus, would you take it?"

North stared in shock at his question. She knew the answer without thinking and answered. "Yeah, I would."

"It's only been a few months since she was taken from me, but I can't live without her."

"And you want to steal another BX700 model from a store? It's impossible, Simon."

He shook his head. "No, it's not. I'm getting (Y/n) back with or without your help." The memories were completely transferred and Simon took the chip. He slid it back in his pocket and shuffled past North.

She quickly grabbed his arm and stopped him. "(Y/n) was my best friend. She was like a sister to me. I want her back as much as you do."

"Then, you'll—"

"I'll help you. I'm sure Markus would want to help, too."

The two androids left and headed to search for Markus. The leader of Jericho was helping other androids when they found him. Markus had thirium-covered hands as his heterochromia gaze met with North's and Simon's. The PL600 told him of his plan to break into a store and steal a BX700 and upload (Y/n)'s memories into it. Markus didn't hesitate and agreed, knowing he could also free more of his people if they broke into the shop. "We leave at midnight."

Simon smiled at his answer and felt the tenseness extinguish from his metallic muscles. North was just as exuberant with Markus' answer as much as Simon. She would be getting her best friend and sister back. It had been a rough time for both of them, but North knew Simon had it much rougher than her. Since (Y/n)'s passing, he rarely talked to any other androids aboard Jericho. He would spend most of his time alone and away from his people. North didn't blame him, but she knew she couldn't leave him to his sorrow any longer. That's why she agreed to do this mission with him. North wants the old Simon back and the only way to do that is to get (Y/n) back.

-Midnight-

Markus, North, and Simon rendezvoused at the exit. The trio decided to leave Josh in charge while they were gone. Simon told them where he had seen another BX700 model a few days ago while he was meandering around the streets of Detroit to clear his head. "There's a store on King's Lane. On display, they have a new BX700 model."

"I will handle any security drones in the area while you both infiltrate the store. Make sure to help everyone," Markus stated. Simon and North nod, leaving their leader and heading to the glass doors of the android shop. The two machines disabled the security system and broke the glass doors with ease. Stepping over the pieces, they enter the shop. Knowing Simon only had his sights on one android, North tended to the others. In the distance, they could hear the sound of Markus taking down a single security drone to prevent their cover from being blown.

Simon reached the BX700 model that was standing idly in the window display case. He took her hands in his and escorted her down from the platform safely. The programmed smile she was giving him brought familiarity, but it wasn't the warm smile he missed seeing. Simon wanted to see her real smile and not the fake one. Pulling out the chip from his pocket, the PL600 swapped the memory chips and gave the new BX700 (Y/n)'s memories. Registering the new chip, the android's smile fell as she slowly remembered what happened. "Simon."

He smiles and takes (Y/n) in his arms, embracing her tightly. As her memories all flood back in small pieces, tears rushed down her cheeks. Simon refused to let her go for even a second. The androids that North had liberated gathered around the lovers and smiled at the beautiful sight.

Markus entered the store and saw the liberated androids, offering them sanctuary in Jericho. The machines cheered in unison and followed their new leader out of the door. The moment Simon let (Y/n) go, North closed in and hugged her. "I swear, you're a handful."

"Guess we're both handfuls," (Y/n) laughs. North smiled and released her, allowing the BX700 to return to Simon. Their hands connected and they left the store, following behind Markus and their newly liberated people.

-Jericho-

Back on the rustic cargo ship, Markus welcomed the new androids while Simon and (Y/n) were approached by Josh. The machine's eyes were wide with shock when he saw (Y/n). For a minute, he thought it was just another BX700 Markus freed, but he was proven wrong when the female android shared some old memories with him. Josh was ecstatic to see (Y/n) had returned and smiled.

After (Y/n)'s short reunion with Josh, Simon took her to the upper deck so they could have some time together without interference from any other androids aboard. The sun was beginning to rise as the two reached the top deck. Simon and (Y/n) sat down, enjoying the rays of light that were peeking over the horizon.

"How long has it been since the Stratford Tower incident?" (Y/n) questioned, shattering the silence between them.

"Three months," Simon answers, his eyes trained on the oncoming dawn.

"How did you bring me back?" The female android asked.

"I stole a memory chip from a CyberLife store a few days ago. I used it to siphon your memories from your damaged body and transfer them to a new BX700 model."

"How is that possible? My entire system was shut down. There's no way you could've downloaded my memories while my entire system was unresponsive."

"Your memory processor wasn't damaged and it had a small bit of life left in it. That small spark was enough to transfer the memories to the chip."

"And then you found a new model to place the memories in," (Y/n) smiles. She scoots closer to him, their shoulders now touching. "Thank you for everything, Simon."

"Those three months were horrible without you. I felt... empty," Simon confesses, placing a hand over his artificial beating heart. (Y/n) turned her upper body and faced him. She gently placed a hand on his cheek and turned his head so he was looking at her. (Y/n) leaned in, sealing Simon's lips with hers. When their lips collided in a soft and passionate kiss, both androids shut their eyes and pervaded in ecstasy at the blissful moment.

As the sun rose above the horizon, it lit all in its path with a brilliant glow and warmed everything with its beautiful rays of yellow, orange, and red. Simon and (Y/n) pulled away, but they reveled in each other's touch as their hands connected and their fingers intertwined like silken ribbons. "I love you, Simon. Thank you for bringing me back."

Simon smiled, leaning his head against (Y/n)'s. "I'd never leave you behind."
