{Shawn's POV}

My throat burned as I breathed heavily, fighting the urge to get up and leave. I watched as she brought the bottle to her lips, taking a long sip.

"You- you told me you were sober," she pulled the bottle away and shrugged.

"I was," she stated before drinking it once again. I sighed and looked down at the ground, seeing a bunch of empty bottles.

"How long?" I asked. She looked at me in confusion. "How long have you been drinking for?" She looked at the bottle and sighed.

"Since you left for tour,"

"That was over a month ago," she nodded and had a guilty look on her face. I placed both hands through my hair and shook my head.

"God, I'm sorry. This is my fault you're not sober, if only I was there-"

"It's not completely your fault. I didn't tell you and I should have." She mumbled.

"I guess it's both our faults." I grabbed a bottle of vodka and unscrewed the lid.

"Shawn you won't like it," she warned me. I ignored it and took a sip, pulling a face as it burned my throat. She chuckled lightly and shook her head. "I told you," I placed it down and grabbed a water bottle. There was a brief moment of silence, the two of us enjoying what may be the last time we see each other.

"So...now what?" I asked. She sighed loudly and shrugged.

"I don't know where we go from here, do we stay together or..." She trailed off. I stayed silent as my gaze was fixed on the ground.

"What do you want to do?" I asked.

"For you to stay," She said quietly and looked into my eyes for the first time that night. I smiled weakly.

"I'd like that, Y/N." My smile disappeared after a thought. "But it isn't working," I said. She nodded slowly and wiped a single tear that fell down her cheek.

"Y-yeah. Yeah, you're right," She stuttered.

"I don't want to leave you like this, you're clearly not stable on your own," I said with a sigh.

"I'll be fine, Shawn. I've handled it for the past month," she scoffed lightly. I picked my jacket up and walked towards the door. I took one last look at the drunk, crying girl. I threw my jacket down and walked over to her.

"I can't leave you, Y/N," I sighed. Her eyes lit up. "For tonight," she frowned and looked down. "Sorry," I apologised.

"Don't feel like you're forced to stay." She slurred. I sat down on the couch opposite her and handed her my glass of water.

"I want to stay, Y/N. For at least tonight," I told her. She thanked me and took a sip of water.

We sat in silence for a while, neither of us knowing what to say. We both knew it was wrong for me to stay, but I couldn't leave her. Not like this.

"How did this happen?" She asked with a soft sigh.

"What do you mean?"

"We used to spend endless nights cuddling and kissing and watching movies." My lips formed a line as I knew where she was leading to.

"And now," she continued. "We'll spend endless nights alone, all because of our stupid feelings."
