{Y/N's POV}
"Don't fall in love with me too soon." He whispered in my ear. I scoffed and pushed him back by his chest."Don't worry, I don't think that would be a problem," I winked and turned away.
"It'll affect you more than you think," he said in a sing-song voice.
"Well let me make it easy for you. If I find myself falling in love with you," I said in a mocking tone "I'll let you know."
"How will you do that?" He smirked.
"I'll say..." I looked around his kitchen "purple spatula," I said, pointing to the spatula laying on his kitchen counter. He gave me a funny look before responding.
"Purple spatula?" He asked. I nodded to reassure him. "Alright, Y/N. When you fall in love-"
"If." I stated. He rolled his eyes
"If you fall in love with the biggest pop star of the year, say purple spatula," he explained.
"Don't flatter yourself, if it wasn't for this stupid contract we'd never speak to each other again." I spat.
"Hey, you're my girlfriend for the next few months. You should get used to me." He smiled innocently and walked out the kitchen.
I sighed and carried on cooking eggs for myself. I can't believe I'm stuck with him for 10 months.
5 months later
Me and Shawn walked hand in hand into my family event, this being the first time he meets my parents. We'd been getting closer for the past 4 or 5 months, getting past the rocky start.
"Y/N!" My five year old cousin, Tiana came running over and wrapped her arms around my leg. I smiled and released Shawn's hand, picking Tiana up and placing her on my hip.
"Hey, Tiana," I smiled. She smiled and turned to Shawn.
"Hey there." Shawn smiled widely. She held her arms out and pouted, signalling she wanted him to hold her. He grinned and took her from my arms.
"This is Shawn," I said. Tiana waved and Shawn waved back. I smiled and watched the two bond over their love of muffins. She held his hand as we walked in and I greeted my family while introducing them to Shawn.
"I'm excited you've finally let us meet him," my mom said.
"Yeah, I think you'll like this one." I nodded. We both sat down and Shawn and my brother went off somewhere, probably to get drinks.
"How did you two meet?" She asked. I explained the story we rehearsed and she smiled ear to ear when I finished.
"That's so adorable! I-"
"Hey, how'd you make this one stay?" My brother teased and sat down next to me. I laughed sarcastically then stopped.
"Wait, have you been with Shawn?" I asked.
"No, I've been with dad." He explained. I looked around before my mom tapped me on the shoulder and pointed to Shawn. I watched as he danced with my younger cousins, often picking them both up and twirling them. I bit my bottom lip to stop myself from smiling.
"I'll be right back," I placed my bag on the table and walked over to the three of them. I tapped Shawn on the shoulder and he smiled back at me.
"Rosie, Sophia, mind if I borrow Shawn for a second?" I asked
"But he's the prince! You can't steal our prince," Rosie pouted.
"He's a prince?" I raised my eyebrow in amusement.
"Yes, He said I'm a princess so he's a prince!" Sophia giggled. I chuckled and bent down to their level.
"I'll be two minutes, then you can have your prince back." They both nodded and I grabbed Shawn's hand and guided him into the back.
"What-" I pulled him closer and attached my lips to his before he could finish his sentence. His eyes widened but soon closed before he kissed back. I leant closer to his ear before whispering something.
"Purple spatula."
