{Y/N's POV}

I stumbled into the house, throwing my keys on the table and placing my coat on the chair beside me. I walked into the living room to see Shawn tying his shoelaces up. He looked up at me and smiled.

"Y/N, hey. I was just headed out," he explained while grabbing a jacket. I rubbed my eyes and nodded, not fully paying attention to my surroundings. "Long day?" He asked with a chuckle. I half smiled and sat down on the couch opposite to him.

"What time will you be back for? I'll save you some food." I suggested. He shook his head and took his keys off the hook.

"I really appreciate the offer, but I'll be back late. Me and Andrew need to work on the album and stuff." He told me softly. I nodded understandingly and followed him to the door.

"Well, I'll see you tomorrow, I guess." I kissed him on the cheek and watched him get into his car and back out of our driveway. I closed the door and walked over to the kitchen, trying to decide what to eat.

I was woken up to the sound of muttering and shuffling around. I slowly opened my eyes as the bed sunk beside me.

"Hey," I smiled. He turned to me as he grinned ear to ear.

"Hey. Sorry for waking you," he apologised.

"It's okay," I checked the time; 5:45. I yawned and sat up "I should be getting up now anyway, early shift." I explained. His smile disappeared slightly as he followed my actions.

"Are you out for the whole day?" He asked. I stood up and searched through the closet for my outfit.

"Yeah, there's been a load of employees that have been cut, so they really need me there to run the place. I'll be back at around 8," I said. He frowned and looked down before sighing. I stopped what I was doing to face him. "You're going out again, aren't you?" I asked. He didn't reply, so I guess I already knew the answer.

"I'm sorry, Y/N," he said. I shook my head and sat down beside him.

"What for? We're both very busy in our lives, Shawn. There's nothing we can do about that." I explained softly. Tears formed in his eyes as he looked up at me.

"Do you think, maybe, that this is-"

"The wrong time?" I asked, finishing for him. He nodded and I sighed. "I do," I said in agreement.

"I really like you, Y/N," he told me. I fought back the tears that threatened to fall and held his hand in mine.

"I know. And I really like you, too." I smiled sadly.

"Sometimes I hate the way the universe works. I just wish we met a few years later, or at least when we have time for each other." He said.

"Maybe we will," I shrugged. I checked the time and stood up. "I, um, better get ready for work." I said. Quickly wiping my eyes.

"So, what does this mean?" He asked. We both knew what was happening, yet neither of us wanted to accept it. We were being torn apart and we couldn't do anything but sit back and watch.

"Are we over with?" I asked.

"As much as I want to say no, I know that this is what's best for us." He told me. I wrapped my arms around him and he kissed the top of my head. We embraced each other for what felt like forever before finally releasing.

"Go to sleep, Shawn. I have to go to work," I smiled sadly. He bit his bottom lip but crawled back into bed.

"Good luck, Y/N. I hope to see you sometime again." He said.

"You, too. And hopefully we will,"
