Liza held Ed's hand as she walked out of the hospital. She had just underwent her fourth round of chemo. Liza hadn't been throwing up lately and Ed assumed that must be a good thing, which Doctor Gallifrey confirmed. The car ride was full of blaring music and laughter. When they arrived home, Liza walked upstairs to fix herself up before she went out to dinner with Ed. Liza glanced quizzically in the mirror and wondered how her hair was so frizzy already when all she had done was go to the doctors. She shrugged to herself and grabbed her wooden hairbrush on the bathroom counter to her left. She brushed through, making two thorough strokes before she felt a ripping sensation. She slowly lowered the brush from her head and brought it into view. She gasped. The brush was full of large chunks of hair. Liza immediately rushed back over to the mirror. The brush clanged to the floor. Liza brought her hand up to her mouth in shock. There were full patches of her skin showing through where her hair should've been. The front section of her hair was all that was completely full. The back of her head was almost completely bald. There were small tufts of hair still clinging onto her scalp. Liza had begun to loose her hair. Tears formed in her eyes as she sunk to the floor and backed against the bathroom door. She quieted her sobs by cupping her hand over her mouth. Liza's hair was her vice. She loved to style and curl it before going out. She loved experimenting with highlights and she loved the way her thick brown hair framed her face. All at once, Liza's confidence sunk and her self esteem plummeted. She no longer felt like a girl, but a victim of the horrific monster called cancer. She suddenly went into a rage and grabbed at the little hair she had left; yanking and pulling until almost all of it was gone. Liza opened her balled fists to discover giant wads of hair wound between her fingers. She threw her hands down and cried silently, lifting her chin up to the ceiling and squeezing her eyes shut. She sat there, broken for a minute until she was startled by the sound of footsteps coming up the stairs. Liza shot up, threw the bathroom door open, and hurtled herself in bed. She shrugged under the sheets and pulled the covers over her head, sinking into the cave of white silk.
"Liza? You ready?" Ed asked, sitting down on the bed beside the outline of Liza's thin body.
"I don't feel good. I'm staying home." She retorted, her voice wavering.
"Liza I'm not stupid what's wrong?" Ed asked, concerned.
"Nothing." Liza mumbled.
"Come on Liza it can't be that ba-" Ed yanked the covers off of her, revealing her secret. Liza had almost no hair left. There were thin patches of smooth brown wisps scattered around her head, but that was all. Ed's mouth was agape. He was shocked as Liza sat up, looking him in the eyes. Hers were full of tears while his were full of awe. Ed couldn't believe it....he couldn't believe how stunning she looked. Her lack of hair made her elevated cheekbones stand out, along with her sharp jawline. Her eyes seemed even more piercingly green and gorgeous. Her lips seemed more full.
"Wow." Escaped from Ed's lips.
"I know," Liza began, "I'm hideous. I'm sorry." She tilted her head down, adverting her gaze from him.
"No," Ed managed. "No Liza."
His voice broke a bit. He was overcome with emotion at the sight of Liza. She looked amazing. She looked...perfect.
"No you look...you look beautiful."
Liza glanced up at Ed confused.
"Ed what?" Liza questioned.
"Liza you look undeniably, unbelievably, impeccably perfect." Ed responded gazing at her.
"Ed...I'm not...I'm ugly." Liza mumbled.
"No Elizabeth. No. Believe me. You look absolutely stunning."
Ed scooted closer to Liza and smashed his lips on hers, cupping her face in his hands. Their lips tangled together as if they were pieces of a puzzle; meant to fit together. Ed pulled away and smiled at her.
"I love you Elizabeth Marie Sheeran. I love you to the ends of the earth."
Liza's lips curved upward the slightest bit.
"You really think I'm...beautiful?" She asked shyly.
"I think you're more than that." Ed whispered to her.
"I love you so much Teddy." She replied, embracing him.
"Only two more rounds of chemo." Ed said. "You're gonna be healthy again in no time." He grinned.
Yeah. Liza thought. No time at all.

Hey guys so I know this chapter is short. I just kinda wanted to throw in the loosing hair because I feel like it needed to be touched upon. For cancer patients, (knowing one) in a way, loosing your hair can be the hardest part. It's your identity. It's what makes you look like a girl, or a boy. It frames your face and brings out your eyes. It's very difficult and saddening for a lot of people with cancer. It sometimes brings the most trauma on a patient. I felt the need to put this chapter in here because I want anyone with or without cancer to know that you are so beautiful...with or without your hair. I love all of you so much. Thanks for reading so far. Vote..comment...be awesome...adios
