God's Word

       Song
Origin: Middle English, from Old English sang; akin to Old English singan to sing.

First use: before 12th century

: a short piece of music with words that are sung
  : the act of singing
: a series of musical sounds that are produced by a bird or an animal (such as a whale)

David is a songmaker. He did several songs to give praises to our God and it was now recorded in the book of Psalms.
In this verse we can see how David really gives appreciation to God. Because God is His Strength and Shield and a Great Help, he had composed this song.
Even Jesus Christ our Lord sing a song to the Father.

And when they had sung a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Matthew 26:30 NKJV

The song for the Lord that we sing wholeheartedly is pleasing and acceptable before God. It is an act of worship, it touches our hearts with the beat, rhyming and tunes. It also help us to meditate more about God. And as we sing a song for Him, He always move like what the Lord had done with Apostle Paul and Silas.

So that we must always listen to Christian Songs rather than worldly songs. Appreciate God with music and praise Him with singing. Let us sing a song for the Lord and be greatly rejoice!

But at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were loosed.
Acts 16:25‭-‬26 NKJV
